ReMix:Donkey Kong Country "Ambient Gemini" 3:57

Arranging the music of one song...
"Aquatic Ambiance"

Hey, Jade Gemini comes in for a double-strike with her second ReMix, a great tune also from a Nintendo game, also ambient, and also, if I remember correctly, played during a water stage. Wow - coincidence or psychic phenomenon? Who knows. What I do know is that, like her Mario64 ReMix, it's good high quality stuff, with especially nice drum sounds that are very deep and have a clean, punchy sound to 'em. The great thing about ReMixes like these are that they sound so pro you could probably play them at a singles bar or cybercafe or somethin' and no one would stand up and say "wait a sec - that's VIDEOGAME music!" . . . unless they were regular visitors here :)

It's strange to think that this track probably would be rejected nowadays, OCremix has evolved quite a bit It's really close to the original, but hey when the original is THIS good that's fine by me. Plus it's a historical song on OC being that it was the first Aquatic Ambiance remix before everyone did one *goes off to remix Aquatic Ambiance*

While conservative.. this is definitely a great track. When listening to the original, I always find myself preferring to just listen to this instead.
It's kind of like an update I could say. Not McVaffe's greatest.. but it still is fun to listen to and makes great background music for studying.

Real close to the original on this one. Almost too close. But seeing as how the original was terrific, I can't really fault it. Sounds like a ramped up version and I can dig that. Really chill and relaxing.

This song is so wonderfully... well, ambient. Each little thread of melody seems to be coming and going out of some hazily comforting fog. Everything just screams, "Yo, chill out..." Definitely a very appropriate mix to just mellow out to. It strangely feels cyclic yet not repetitive... huh....
Still it's a great mix to have in any OCR collection.

McVaffe is definitely my favorite artist on OCRemix and I always look forward to seeing his name show up on random playlists, but I must admit being a little underwhelmed by this track. It's way too close to the source material.

I love the source; I love McVaffe, but this one seems to be somewhat inferior to a lot of his other tracks.
Things are decently enough produced, but there are some samples that even though processed, sound really cheap, like the lead "guitar". I guess I was hoping for something more ambient than this, with a stronger mood. There is some good panning on the track, but the sound field doesn't feel very deep.
It's still a good track, but it seems like it wasn't quite complete, or perhaps one of his earlier works.

This sounds better on my laptop speakers than on headphones. That lead synth feels warbly and airy either way, but thankfully the kick sample isn't intimate with my right ear. The soundfield sounds incomplete, but when played through my computer's speakers, the distant, low-fi flavor feels more natural and less intimidating. I won't compare this to other Aquatic Ambience mixes, but this isn't my cup of tea.

I´m sorry. McVaffe has always been fair to me, he makes great remixes, I download them and have a good listening moment, but this song sounds hardly arranged. It´s like:
"Hey, nice gamesong...what? It´s a remix? Oops."
Vaffdude is one of the best remixers we have, but this one didn´t just cut it.

I actually like the original better than this piece too. Tho to be fair it's hard to beat some of the tradcks from any DKC. I also tend to agree that Blue Vision is a better remix of this track. Not to say it's bad or anything, but just decent.

great mix. as the name implies, it has an awesome ambient feel to it. makes you want to just lie back and drift away on the waves...
the lead synth is the only quirk... as pitch-bending would have helped it flow TREMENDOUSLY. it came off a little choppy. definitely would have suggested some reverb/delay as well. other than that, it really is a beautiful piece of work. keep it up!

This was one of the first remixes that I ever dowloaded and it is STILL the only remix that gets looped to death in the house. It's so easy to chill too and get lost the th ambient sound. It was the only song on DKC that I liked! High recommended!

This mix sounds great apart from one thing......
The synth playing the main melody..... I'm sorry but to me it just sounds bad. Apart from that one niggle this is a fantastic rendition of, in my opinion, the best song in Donkey Kong Country.

Good remix, but if you want a true underwater remix for DKC, check out Blue Vision by bLinD.

Ahhhh... Fresh and cool. As the name suggests, this is almost relaxing enough to stop your heart. Drum beat is pretty neat, loved the little electric instrument and piano. I can't identify many instruments, but I do know that they blend quite well to create a mix that you can literally go to sleep on. Loved it.
