JD definitely has a very different ReMixing philosophy than me; frankly, I like to change quite a few elements of the original track, in addition to adding new bits and of course using different instruments, etc. Some people think that ReMixes should be pretty close to the original - almost more like an arrangement - whereas some like myself prefer to think of ReMixes as 'interpretations' that should bear some resemblance but can have different tempos, hell - even different notes in some cases. And of course, I often find a way to insert my very own solos :) Well, for those of the first camp, JD is certainly your savior, because he has come up with a great recreation of the F-Zero Mute City theme that has his trademark excellent sound quality and attention to details in all things sonic. JD is more likely who Nintendo would have called if they had done a CD version of F-Zero . . . if they had ever got that cd-rom drive out (which eventually became the playstation, btw). This IS a very good ReMix.

A nice intro with sporadic drum beats leads into an also nice main melody. The lead is a little light and airy and could have used a bit more body to it to give this track some oomph, but it hardly detracts from the mix overall. The original additions are very welcome.

The transition to the original material (as short as it is) in this remix didn’t strike me as smooth, but this is still a very nice arrangement. The synth work is great, and at parts, it actually sounds the music is coming from a Super Nintendo game.

This actually surprised me a little. This is by far the most interpretive of JD's tracks (that I've heard so far.) At 1:50 it actually goes into original territory, which is fun!
DJP nailed it in his writeup though, this would fit in really nicely on an F-Zero CD game from the era. Works nicely as a bit of background music, recommended.

Nice and driving beat, though little variation in the drum patterns (rather autopilot), and the hi hat in the right speaker was rather painful. Good uplifting vibe though. Nice oldie. Not your best but also not your worst.
