Arranging the music of one song...
"Reminiscence (Opening Staff Roll BGM)"

I never played this game but I always wanted to . . . of course, I can say that about a depressing number of great RPGs. Working for a living has its upsides (money!) and its downsides (no time!). Right. If you took a beautiful steinway piano and arranged a beautiful track on it, full of emotion and melancholy, then . . . played it underwater . . . it might sound something like this. I mean that as a compliment, however: essentially what we have here is a nice extended ReMix of Suikoden 2 BGM played on a quality piano patch that would otherwise be filed as 'straight instrumental', but because of a wash of reverb, subtle strings, and what sounds like lowpass filtering, it instead is much more appropriately labeled 'Ambient' as it achieves a very distant, watery, epic-yet-somber feel. Not exactly musical prozac, and you can't dance to it (unless you're Mustin, maybe ^^), but it's a very professional and emotional submission you should definitely check out.

I'm so sad that Suikoden 1-2 are so under-represented on OCR that I'm gonna listen to this and cry my life out...
Suikoden 2 has one of the best soundtrack of all time!!

This track came up on NGI 125 and reminded me of the debates I had with GrayLightning during the lockdown. OA's review basically echoes the sentiment we had about this arrangement, and honestly I'm not sure how it survived the purge.
That said, OCR is certainly not any worse off for having this in its in catalog. The fact that it almost didn't make it actually kind of makes me appreciate that it did. There's little, if any, else like it.

The first time I heard this, I cried so hard I accidentally tasted my own runny snot. Then I promptly burned this onto a CD as many times as it could fit (as the only song on it). No other ReMix has had that kind of effect on me - that's how powerful a tearjerker this is.

I almost never post to the boards, but my iTunes hit this song on shuffle today, and I loved it enough to put it on infinite repeat while I study. Straight forward arrangement or not, this moves me.

Very peaceful. Reminds me of my electronic piano, the way the intro sounds. I heart the strings.
I am a bit disappointed by the abrupt ending however. It seems to be the kind of melody that needs a fade out. Great composition nonetheless.

There is a high pitched drone going on here, but this source song is one of my all time favorites. This remix is just an extended version of the original though, with no new additions, and a very slightly slowed tempo.
I love the song and this mix a ton, but you can hear almost this exact same version on the original soundtrack.

So let it be known I have an abnormal hearing range. It's not Dog like, but there is a high pitch whine throughout this entire song. I hope this isn't the watery sound you people were talking about. I was wondering why I got a headache every time I listened to it. Fix this whine and you've got me sold.
I guess that's the downside of having a nice soundcard and phones. It is just this song and it's not a hardware/software issue. I get it in winamp, WMP, itunes, and my nano (but not my old mini because I don't think it could play that. Also it's not my headphones because I got it on my earbuds and my full headphones.
As for the review of the song, it needs more variation. besides just adding violin harmony. It has tension and resolve but no dynamics to flow it with the exception of the bridge around 1:50. I'm only really critical because of the pitch though. I like the song and what the artist developed-- melody and variations and all.

The pads and piano approach, especially with as dark and creamy a piano as this, lends itself to beautiful reflective music. You've executed that idea wonderfully. Very nice Hazama.

This one's always been a favorite of mine. The ethereal piano processing is absolutely perfect and though the composition itself may lack complexity, it is an emotionally impacting performance.

This mix reminds me a lot of the Gundam SEED Soundtrack. They were huge fans of the distortion technique (hope that's the correct way to describe how it sounds) used on the piano in this song. I love it!

Wow, this is the second rather old (02) mix that my playlist has shuffled to.. and I am blown away. It doesn't make me feel sad, except that it reminds me of when I was little, and I'd play the piano at my grandmother's before she died.

10 or so seconds into this mix and I had one of those real relaxing "Whoooooa..." feelings go over me. Maybe it was just coincidence, or maybe it was the mix, I don't know. But either way, I like this. Perfect ambient-like stuff.

Wow what can I say.....this piece is so calm and emotive.....I can feel it grip me and speak to me
Really nice
