Dj Chako's second ReMix and our first Megaman 8 ReMix, 'FrostyDelight' features some frigidly phased synths that really do have a 'cold' feeling to them given the heavy phasing. I've always liked analog synth chirps, and the drum track - in addition to a lovely kick - features some excellent rolling patterns using them. Throw in a cool little 'You have lost your touch' sample and you have a pretty good - wait a sec - no bass? That's right, listeners, Chako has forsaken the bass on this ReMix. Always an interesting decision that massively changes the feel of a piece, I think leaving out a bassline here makes a little sense, as it gives the phased background pads room to breathe and makes the piece feel colder and emptier. Some may disagree though - you'll just have to hear it fer yerself, won't you?

❄️The frosty sound and panning make this track a keeper for me. No idea what the vocal is from (surprised it's not Jump! Slide! or something), but I think it meshes well with the remix's chill energy. ❄️

Everything's phased? haven't heard that before. The tone is actually nice for it. The melody synth is static as a statue and I'm not feeling the sample, but it's decent. I like how it feels cold and calm despite being a dance mix.

May have just been me, but it seems like with headphones on, this has a neat little 3D sounding effect. Without the bass, it sounds like there are two layers of song going on, one in the background and one in the foreground in each separate ear bud. Just noting how cool that seemed. Wasn't fond of the "lost your touch" sample, but I didn't hate it either. It just seemed like it could have done fine without it. For a ReMix well over ten years old, this has held up fairly well, I'd say. Not bad at all.

Curse you, DJChAko, for allowing me to listen to this before playing Mega Man 8! Now the OST's bassline sounds out of place!
if i re did this it would be utterly awesome
You should definitely do that!
I really like the "Chill out" vibe this mix gives off, even though I don't really like the "chill out" genre in general (Groove Armada - At the River).

calm down dude. its a comments thread. besides, I like your two mixes (i prefer Maridia remix over this one though. I'm a metroid freak.)
you're cool .. you're cool.. you weren;t who i was directing that at... moreso the person who linked to someone else's work via mine..lol if i re did this it would be utterly awesome.. the next remix i might do is the part on supermetroid when she's on top of the planet.. like right when she gets out of her spaceship..

I enjoyed this song. Very chilly sound to it, and I happen to like the 'lost your touch', even though it does seem a little out of place here. Still, not much else happens in the song, there definitely could've been more to it.

interesting ReMix........seems more soundscape based than anything, but Trevor pulls it off well. leaving out the bassline was a wise desicion here; it would just be out of place in this style. i still find it strange and haunting though......

Basically it starts out strong conceptually, but then gets a bit complacent.
Pretty much this ^
It has a really good ambient build up but never quite lives up to its potential... um.. potential? Also the vocal samples feel out of place. And yet... this mix still resonates with me a little.
The background synths really remind me of arctic wind blowing. And the minimalist nature reminds me of some forgotten ice cave. I'd recommend at least listening to it once.
