Ready for a little C64-ReMixin' action? Yes, the commodore remixing scene is quite huge and has a long, venerated legacy of producing top-notch techno renditions of tunes the beloved SID chip originally rendered. Rubbish submits this ReMix of Cybernoid 2, a 2-d shooter / exploration type game, vaguely similar to modern-day Bangaioh if you've played it. Crystalline bell pads open things up, with a low, filtering bass pad underneath, stating the main melody. Drums then enter, along with a very active bassline. An oscillator-synced synth takes the melody later at 1'16", adding some good textural variety. The snare drum used is curioulsy low in harmonic content and has no real "bite" to it, but again whenever the snare sound is the only thing I question you know it's good shtuff. You may not know the game, depending on when you were born or whether you're into emulation, but get to know this ReMix - it's well worth your time.

Mixing is good, production is crisp if a bit conservative, and it is definitely pumping. If anything I would have liked to have heard some more diverse parts and sections thrown in but it is good as-is. Holds up very well over time.

I'm not familiar with the source, but it sounds like a nice angle to approach it. However, it suffers from the abrupt ending syndrome that plagues most of these old mixes.

it starts out strong and maintains that pace, but that may be the problem. Maybe switch it up a little more, or introduce more and build up as you go along. good job though!

Pretty standard dance floor techno.
I'm not familiar with the game, but the track sounds like Shoot em up background music
The main melody seems overshadowed by the rest, though.
A nice track, but ultimately it doesn't really set itself apart from the crowd.

i can only echo what some other people said... pretty standard techno-fare. my biggest complaint is the lack of momentum. i wanted some more energy going into each section of the track.

I'm digging this. It's catchy, and everything meshes together pretty well. I wish the volume was upped on a couple synths just a tad, but overall, nice stuff.

oh, it's a phat beat
This is very general synth music but it's still highly enjoyable. Nice energy and bass, even though the filtering is a bit too much.

I'm really digging that phat synth once the song picks up. I'd prefer some addition to the rhythmic backing, aside from that synth. More harmonies would be appreciated. It's good that you switch leads from that icy synth to that more warpy one. Overall, short but sweet. People seem to not like fadeout intros but happen to be a fan of them. Nice stuff, I might use this as driving music.

A mix that sounds awesome on headphones, the super-subtle panning and solid-if-not-straightforward beat make this a great driving track.
Though i'd prefer a bit more melodic interpretation, Rubbish mixes up the elements enough to keep things interesting throughout.
For fans of C64 remixes this is a must download.

Hey, this one ain't so bad. Sure, it'd have no chance of passing these days, but the beat generates some interest. Short, but that's probably for the best- novelty couldn't carry this song another two minutes.
It doesn't suck.

This song needs some 3. Big time.
While the opening didn't strike me as outstanding, the rest of the mix makes up for it. There's some really groovy stuff going on in the background, which is nice, because I didn't really like the lead instrument....that is, until 1'15 when it switches to a lower selection, which sounds much nicer. The drums in this mix are hot. Love the 303's. I love the ending too...it's a fade, but it switches to a loveley pattern. This ain't rubbish at all.
Come on...it's C64, that should be reason enough to download it.

Cybernoid II 'CyberRubbish'
I'm afraid I can't call this Rubbish. Awesome, amazing, down right kick ass, or even super duper excellent maybe, but its not going to be Rubbish. This one really makes me spin; I love the drums and the 303’s. Excellent work Rubbish, keep this stuff out of the trash and in my ears.
