I almost made a data entry error and classified this as a ReMix of Super Thunderblade, which might have puzzled a couple people with the title and what not (although . . . ) Joe Redifer's latest is a short piece in which he branches out from Vocalwriter, the Mac application he's used for most of his mixes, and brings in Reason as well. The two work well off one another in this Sonic CD mix - a deep bass, thick bell pads, and a delayed lead are the primary elements, combining into a catchy upbeat pop sound. I'd like to hear Joe use some of Reason's drum sound in the future, as I believe the main weakness of Vocalwriter is its drum samples, which sound a little low resolution (esp. the hi-hat). Other than that lil comment, I can safely recommend this lil bastard to lovers of happy Sonic music everywhere :)

Ah, this track. I remember listening to it quite a lot when I just joined the forums It's a shame that this track is so short and doesn't develop at all, since I've always thought that the sounds used here are not too bad. I'd really love to see Joe revisit it one day, but I guess he's too busy with Game Sack these days

this is my go-to mix for worst on the site, to be honest
i'm continually shocked it hasn't been relegated to ocremoved

This one is quite short, and manages to get through the main melody two times before coming to a close. I feel as though there isn't much change between the two repetitions, which is unfortunate, because it would have been nice to hear some variations or original material in the second time through. This feels more like it is a part of the game than a remix of the source, which is a bit unfortunate. I think the soundscape was pretty cool, though the drums were a bit weak as well, and it would have been nice to have heard a stronger percussion section.
This one isn't doing much for me, sadly.

I'm not sure how much this mimics the original as I'm not familiar with the source, but this has a pretty happy sound to it. It's nice for a WIP I guess, but there's really not much here arrangement-wise to really comment about it.

good work, I think you really captured the feeling invoked by the very underrated source. the synths were awesome, and the drums set a very cool beat. good work!
p.s. 100th post ftw!

Just a ReMix appetizer, the melody is nice, but seriously way too short; there is hardly room for the original, let alone some interpretation.

Sounded like it was actually gonna go somewhere... entirely too short...

I liked this one. Short on time, yes, but it compensates it with some bells and a very catchy electric guitar. Or is a bass guitar? I've never been able to tell them apart that much.
I'm taking this bastard to where it belongs, in my music folder.
hey jus wanna say gr8 work. sounds simple but effective. 1 of my fav sonic remixes.
I think you clicked on the wrong emoticon.

Its pretty good. I liked the bells and the bass. Good tone to em. It was a bit short though. It's good , not great. Still good though!

Oh man, this song is awesome. If only it was longer. I could do with a few more rounds of that melody.

If the mix is incomplete then so is the original soundtrack
The original was 33 seconds long and ended the same way as this mix
Anyways, definitely my favorite Sonic coverage! I remember renting the import Sonic CD way back during the good old days of Die Hard Gamer's Club and I considered the title screen track the best piece of music I heard during that entire year!

How can this remix have no reviews?
This is an excellent remix. I wouldn't necessarily listen to it just for listening's sake, but after a hard and stressful day, there are few remixes I'd rather come home to. It's so relaxing I can almost drift off to sleep listening to it if I don't try to stay awake. The only reason I don't llike it is that it's too short.
Great job anyway!

Sonic CD (JP) 'Li'l Blue Bastard'
Joe Redifer's latest mix is fun, high quality, and... short. Too short, in fact. As I've said before, I have no problems with short mixes, as long as they don't feel *incomplete* which, sorry to say, this one does. But what's here is good, and well worth a download.
