Trptcox makes his OC ReMix debut with a stunningly beautiful FFX arrangement that lovers of good orchestral / instrumental works should definitely dig. According to his bio, Trptcox uses primarily Finale to sequence, which is a little unique as it's commonly used as a notation app, but if these are the results, I'm not knocking it! Beautiful harp, pizzicato, strings, oboe, piano, and a generous spackling of assorted brass all play immaculately and complimentarily with one another in this ReMix that is at times soaringly beautiful and at other times delicately introspective. ALL samples used are very high quality - that alone doesn't make a mix great, but it certainly don't hurt, and it's clear the ReMixer in question knows to how to capitalize on the dynamics of a well-sampled soundset to make the emulations believable and emotive. This one's a no-brainer for fans of FF and lush classical arrangements, which is a pretty wide demographic, and even if it doesn't perchance include you, I recommend making an exception and checking this piece out - it flows through all the ups and downs and tempo changes that a major motion picture soundtrack's overture would, and does so with class and care. Highly recommended.

Conservative, but at least offering some different instrumentation from the original. Some of the sounds were thin and dated, but many of them held up alright. Russell Cox is definitely an old-school legend, so this one didn't even scratch the surface of what he'd eventually bring to the table.

Oh dear, it looks like I stand alone here. This is, without a doubt, the worst remix on the website that I have heard. It's not beautiful, it's off and unsettling. The first time I listened to it, I remember cringing listening to the introduction. Some notes I felt were held for too long, and the random times the horn (not sure which one) came into the song, I just thought it was a mess. I will, however, commend 4:30 onwards, for the piano solo. That was the only good bit of the song, and it was a damn good bit.

I, however, can't believe what I'm hearing in this remix. My favourite song, completely butchered. While I may stand alone in this topic, and while it is merely my opinion, I had to say it, since it was the first OCremix song I hated, and I still do. Don't get me wrong, there's a crap load of talent coming from your area, but this was nothing like a good song to me.

This would have to be the best remix on At Zanarkand. Worth every minute to listen to.

The arrangement is pretty much the same as the original to my ears. There might be some additional parts, but if there are, they are buried. It's still pretty competently put together, though some of the samples could use some modulation.

I love the theme though, and this does it a service, but it's so close to the original.

this is some pretty amazing stuff, but it sounds verbatim. i can't really point out any noticeable changes in the arrangement.

This remix rivals with the orchestral version of To Zanarkand that the Final Fantasy Orchestra performs.

I think I know that track, that one is very similar to this one, unfortunately too similar, it was like listening to the original. If Russel puts some more instruments in this, he can do some real cool things, but with just strings, harp and flutes there´s no big changes, even drums would help a bit. Anyhow, good song. Add some more and it will be majestic.

Personally, I think it's WONDERFUL. It has to be one of the best orchestrated remixes i've heard in a while. Here are the few flaws this song has:

At the beginning, the flutes seem slightly flat the second they start each note and are instantly back on key just after that split second. At about 1:25, the french horn part sounds sort of out of place. That's all of the flaws. I REALLY liked the piano at the end though. Overall, I think this is a wonderful remix and is worth downloading.

Wonderfully done! This is a truly beautiful remix, although I have trouble listening to it all the way through. It just makes me sad...especially around 3:50

8/10 in my book.

I absolutely adore FF-10 and all it's music, so i welcome any attempt to re-create it :D

Peaceful and calm ,gets better with each listening.

Maybe just a bit too close to the original this one.
