More orchestral stuff from DC13, this time in the form of a Breath of Fire ReMix where a combination of dramatic tempo changes is the most salient characteristic. Beginning with a good piano rendition of the melody, DC then timpani rolls into the full orchestration, complete with strings, winds, whooshy chimes, and orchestral snare. Things go rapidly uptempo at 0'48" (and again at 1'14") with the change, also clearly marked by the introduction of prominent pizzicato strings (becoming quite the common orchestral ingredient these days ^^). Good, brief arrangement that doesn't go overboard. The timpani roll might have started softer so a build was more evident. With orchestral mixes such as this, my own tendencies always lead me to want a solo or cadenza where things are stripped down and one instrument is clearly taking the spotlight - just adds a bit of dynamics - but that does require having especially high quality sounds as added exposure means any flaws are more evident. Just something to think about for the future - all in all a solid effort, enjoyable to those familiar with the material or fond of orchestral pieces, and of particular interest for the implementation of several tempo changes that do give it some nice flow.

Enjoyable mix, even if it feels more like a cover. The instruments (of course) and pacing are different than the source, but there's little original content. With that said, it's something I'll listen to in my BoF list.

Good stuff, this remix has a lot of charm to it, especially considering it's age. Nice tempo changes, and a generally relaxing but nostalgic/sad mood. I really like the prominence of the piano in the mix, it anchors things well.
There's a lot of nitpicky realism issues, but they are minor, and the mix still holds up well, with good textures and a progressive narrative.
Not perfect, but very classy.

pretty stuff. love the lowness of the piano. when the pizz strings come in at 1:20ish it really takes off. melodies around 1:50 and 2:20 are rather nice as well.
good job

Good piece, and some good arrangement, but it has it's quirks, and shows it's age.
Samples aren't the best quality, and it was distracting to me. Not the worst quality either, but they could use an upgrade. The piano grates on me.
Overall, I would love to hear more variation on the source. There's some work in the background, but the melody really needs some work. Some more original stuff would be cool, too.
Still an enjoyable listen, but I'd love to hear it upgraded with better sounds and some more arrangement.

this is very, very well done. But even more points to the mixer who actually *gasp* gave a rat's ass about BoF. This series needs more remixes and this me boy, tis one fine example as to why.

This is just such a beautiful arraignment. I've been listening to it the past couple of days and it made me wonder if I ever gave DC13 his proper praise for it.
I've still technically left the site, but I had to do this one thing here and I'll be content.
This is a remix I should've given my support long ago, but I never got around to it. I've only given mad props to two or three other remixes, so DC13 should consider himself very fortunate to be in such a selective group. Very well done.

Okay, here´s my following complaints:
1)The intro was too beautiful
2)The walkover to the orchestral was too good
3)You chose the instruments WAY to brilliant
...and let´s see here...hmm...Nope! That´s all!
You better not change.

The piano intro and piano throughout the song is great
Parts where the tempo changes are cool
In fact the whole song is cool, its very deep and beautiful

Kudos to DC13 for making such a fine ReMix. It reminds me of the scene when Alan ran into the castle right before it disapated. I can only hope that DC13 maintains such calibur of work in every one of his works.

I really don't have a lot of orch music [tho i have some music that has pretty much the same feeling as this], from what I've heard, this is just one of the most beutiful pieces on this entire site. Seriously.

Wow, this brings back memories. I pretty much echo what everyone else has said. My favorite parts in this mix are the gorgeous piano intro and pizz usage. They really make the piece as far as I'm concerened. The samples on the whole, are excellent. Perfect reverb too. This is my favorite piece in the game, and you've certainly done it justice. Beautiful work!

Excellent remix, though a bit on the odd side. Puts me in a very weird mood. I can't decide whether to frolic through a field of daisies or jump off of a building... or a combination of the two. Odd, but beautiful. I give it a 9 on the remix-o-meter.

This song starts out with the obvious tune from Breath of Fire, quickly disolving into one of those very well done orchestral pieces.
at -2:31 i found the tympanis a little too much to bear, and got me a little discomforted with the piece, but the strings sound realistic enough to give it a good feel to it, the piece itself is well mastered and completely worth its download time, though i dont suggest it to people who are into harder stuff like JAXX
on a PS note , the -1:39 string hits are beautifull, and i salute to that

sweet.
There's just something about symphonic pieces that makes them superior to all the rest, and this is no exception.
I love this. Its just great.

This has to be one of my favorite symphonic remixes, I'd have to give this a 9.5/10. Great job DC13 Please try to write more songs like this!!
