ReMix:Donkey Kong Country "Blue Vision" 4:17

Arranging the music of one song...
"Aquatic Ambiance"
Primary Game: Donkey Kong Country (Nintendo , 1994, SNES), music by David Wise, Eveline Novakovic, Robin BeanlandPosted 2002-09-17, evaluated by the judges panel
Atmospheric agua in the form of downbeat electronica from bLiNd, covering the groovy, super laid-back water tunage from Donkey Kong Country. Gotta love the original, and though there's not much additional arrangement to speak of, Jordan has done good, wholesome things with the instrumentation, choosing impeccably his various replacements for the original SNES timbres and mixing the whole enchilada to a milky, deep, reverberating abyss of music. I now have a much longer commute thanks to a new job, but mixes like this give me less to complain about - very soothing, perhaps even enough to make me forget about people that leave their turning signals on for ten miles or go twenty in the left lane when the limit's thirty or don't understand the concept of a merge or yield and never will or . . . well, you get the point. Mr. Aguirre's latest ambient work might not completely alleviate the commute, but it'll certainly help - liquid analog synths, echoing arpeggios, and nothing grating or intrusive to spoil the vibe. Good stuff - a bit more interpretation of the melody/chords would've pushed it into "great" territory, but it still comes recommended.

For the record, I usually delete every DKC remix I come upon, as I pretty much universally hate that game, its music and its remixes.
Ah, so you're like that 1 person who dislikes every awesome YouTube video.

This song alone survived throughout the years. It is...
"Hauntingly empathetic". Yes.

I've had this on my play list for like- 7 years maybe? That's pretty a much a testament to the awesomenimity of the track. Very similar to the original in arrangement, but the sheer quality of sounds used and the production treatment makes this one a solid addition to OCR.

Interesting. I really like how this seems to have a more upbeat groovin' feeling while maintaining the cool, crisp, relaxing flavor of the original tune. I can hear a high amount of source tune, but seeing as you still made it your own, (and the best out of the hundred other mixes of this mix, IMO), I like it. Bravo.

This mix adds too much energy to a source that, imo, needs to stay slow and mellow; it just feels to miss-matched and out of place.
While the combination feels a little awkward and panicky, it is pulled off successfully and retains some of its foggy laid back nature.
Also some of the synths feel odd and out of place, but in the end, this is still a very solid and highly recommended remix

While Aquatic Ambiance employs a subtle, minutely worrisome feel, Blue Vision is openly sweeping, bubbly, and pronounces the beat to the point where I just gotta bob my head. Every lead synth is endearingly elastic, and the constant ebb and flow of effects adds to the strong but gentle current in this mix. I also like the way the chewy supporting lead (3:07+) alters itself briefly before the very end (4:08+).

Great job with this remix!!! You have no idea how many times I've listened to this song in particular! This song has inspired me to work on a song with Aquatic Ambiance. It's taking a long time and a lot of hard work, though.

Oh my l really need to stop playing this. It is a excellent remix you have created.

Thank you so much for making this! The original one from the DKC is one of my favorite video game songs. Your version makes it even better. A very well done remix! Thank you so very much for making it, and i hope you remix more songs from the DKC series.

I think it's safe to say that this is my favorite OC ReMix for quite some time now.
bLiNd did a fantastic job with this song. A very good aquatic atmosphere, great sound and a great arrangement.

this song is accurate to the very last ...uh...how to say...beat? But man, its just one of those songs that won't burn out in a looong time. Good job mate

I can definitely hear contribution, as well as allusion to the original sound theme.
There seems to be something really beautiful appearing in the electric background toward the end... you know? The part that fades away...
It would have been nice to hear more of that. Great work lad.

im not one to remix but i thought this was pretty cool
gave it a small twist to the sound of the theme

Hey, I'm fairly new here, youknow, searchin' around, and this was the second mp3 i dl'ed. D.K. Country's music is expressed through combinations of chords and rhythms, and bLiNd, you got that!

Wow, where can I start?... This mix gives the complete power of the original water levels directly from the game, but doubles it. It gave both soothing elements throughout the mix, but still kept a strong beat to keep a realistic feeling of dangerous waters that you would be swimming through. This was by far one of the best water effect mixes I've ever heard, and deserves to be heard by all.
