Newcomers with interest often ask the question: "How do I become a ReMixer?" While I don't think there's any single magical combination of steps you can take, software or hardware you can buy, or materials you can study and learn from, I'd point to PxFury as someone who's gone about things in a way that makes sense to me. He's worked on his pieces quite a bit and polished this submission *before* submitting it, he's gotten feedback from others and used that to improve his work, and he chose not to submit his earlier piece and waited until he had something he thought was 100% ready. Kudos to yudos, sir. I'm not saying that process is right for everyone, but like I said, it makes sense to me, and the end result is this excellent Sonic 2 ReMix you have before you tonight. Booming, thick techno trance of the "heavy reverb & downbeat" variety, with some piano thrown in, some great swirly glass pads, a nice break at about two minutes and a slick and coherent intro and ending that make for a tight package that comes together well. A stellar first effort, there's perhaps room for improvement in the drums department, though this is a genre that doesn't always facilitate developing that particular aspect. I enjoyed hearing this specific track taken apart and pieced back together like this - worked better than I'd have expected, and some of the chromatic intro/outro stuff is delicious in this context. Great way to start from PxFury, truly, and a recommended track.

Very nice stuff going on here. Slow piano opening, faster electronic midsection, solid ending. Not really much more to ask for in a good ReMix. Sounds more like a flashback theme than a battle theme, but I'm cool with that considering how good it sounds. I do think it kinda does end a bit faster than one might expect with how it flows, but still, sounds great.

a pretty good mix, with some nice synths and piano work- the sounds are a bit generic, but they work well to tell the story of the rise and fall of DJ Robotnic. Nice panning on the bloopy synths, and though the track suffers a bit from the cut-and-paste work on the sections, and the overly fast ending, it's still a pretty fun track.

I heard this song eight years ago, before I even knew about ocr or that people even remixed video game music. This is a fantastic mix!!!!! It brings back great memories.

WOW that remix is AWESOME! I have been playing sonic games for a very long time and I think that it is one of the better mixes I have heard from sonic.

Its has an awesome Techno mix to it. I love it and I don't usually like techno music.

Absolutely amazing.
Seriously, this reminds me of those flashback videos. The video in my head is something like...
*Robotnik finally is going to die. That's the piano bit. Then, he remembers when it first began. On with the flashbacks, the illusions of grandeur, the pain, the tears, the memories... The the piano bit comes back and Robotnik dies.*
Sometimes I have the "Robotnik playing piano then goes to club and makes a rave song" video, but mostly it's the flashback one.
I'm a sucker for songs like this. I haven't meant one I didn't like yet.

This'll probably sound kinda stupid, but here it goes.
While listening to this song, I couldn't help but wonder why the piano was in there at the beginning. Then the image of Gerald Robotnik teaching Julian/Julias...can't remember Eggman's first-name how to play the piano.
Fast-forward about ten years, and Eggman is a DJ at a rave, playing the very song he learned from his grandfather.
The other theory I had about the song was that perhaps while Robotnik was in a club, he was popping some E, and had delusions of grandeur, so he started creating and building, unaware that he wasn't as great as he thought he was. In comes Sonic, who ruins his plans
About the remix, though. I think its very nicely done, and definatly one of my favorites on here.

Hehe.. Reminds me of the first time I was about to face Dr. Robotnik. I was calm at first, then I heard his tune in the background.. What I'm trying to say, and not doing a good job at it, is that it has different stages of emotion in this remix and makes them sound GREAT! You gotta do more like this PxFury!

Hell's yeaah!! PxFury brings back old memories with this trippy, dance song
At 1:00 the ecstacy finally kicks in then at 1:36 theres that ol' familiar melody which I love!
I'ld say this song almost feels laid back but its also heavy at the same time
Awesome remix, Px! Reminds me so much of the times when I'ld speed run through the sonic games

I liked this original piece on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 back in the early 90's. And this track has made it better without taking away its original......feeling......i guess, lol. Brilliant 10/10

I would like to say, PxFury, you did a great job! Congrats! It had a very nice beat to it, not to mention blending the chorus with the first part! The piano used was very smooth and just drains you out of this world (Well, it might not do that, but it was cool)! Just to make you happy, I have sent a remix of this song as well and should be posted on this web site in the next 6 weeks because I just submitted it, so I figured I'd make you happy by telling you. It is rather cool to say I listen to your song almost everything time I'm on my school bus going to and from school. Overall - 8.513428746 out of 10

Well I have had this Mix Downloaded for quite some time, but haven't posted my thoughts. It's so funny cause it reminds me of my best friends and I driving Downtown to a party (by the way we all love this song) anyways, as were driving it was beautiful night few clouds, the moon shining bright, and all of us TRIPPING OUT HARDCORE . HAHAHA this is such a great mix, it made all of use feel like we were out in space driving. When a song can make me imagine a visualize something and actually see it happening it gets my approval 100%. and by the way it was a long drive that we had. I'm out!!!!!

A beautiful remix, this is among my favorites. Really, both of PxFury's remixes are outstanding... smooth and clean, it's the kind of stuff that you can just stream together and listen to for a good long while without realizing it.
