Arranging the music of one song...
"People of the North Pole"
Primary Game: Final Fantasy X (Square , 2001, PS2), music by Junya Nakano, Masashi Hamauzu, Nobuo UematsuPosted 2005-12-25, evaluated by the judges panel
Jordan provides us with additional holiday mirth and merriment in the form of some solid electronica stylings:
"I've shown darkesword and analoq this mix... the only real beef they had was the length. But this is a club mix with the standard dj friendly 32 bar intro/outro. I did my absolute best to keep things interesting in the progression of the track. It's constantly changing and evolving but as analoq/darkesword said, it loses energy in parts mainly because of the arrangement format it's in. Hopefully this wont be a problem and wont detract from making a post on OC. I worked really hard on the mixdown and mastering as well, as this was carefully crafted in my home studio :)"
At over seven and a half minutes, it's a long'un, but I think he of mixed-case nickage does as he suggests above and varies things up enough over the course. TO provides a better play-by-play than I can at this particular point in time:
"So a club mix of the Gagazet music. I had my doubts before I listened to the piece. The lengthy intro didn't really quench my doubts either. When the melody came in at 1:12 I wasn't too fond of the delayed sound the lead synth had. It's also quite subdued in the mix, it could have been a bit louder for me. As the beat builds in, the actual sound of the mix builds up to a much nicer level as we get some sweet key changes around the Gagazet theme.
The section at 2:40 is very sweet, with the stuttery high synth. Builds into the rest of the mix nicely from 3:14 with some sweet automated filtering. The strings that come in at 3:58 I feel could have been a little sharper and stronger in terms of the powerful sound the mix had here. Two-note chords could have worked a little better, but just a little gripe. The lead synth at 5:08 is just to die for. I never would have thought that a trance version of the piece could upstage the strings and bagpipe that played that melody in the original, but this does a wonderful job."
Pretty much; there's passages that stand out more than others, but the overall presentation is consistently strong and preeminently danceable. Unfortunately, neither Larry, zircon, or myself (and probably most others) had REAL white skies or anything approaching a 'Winter Wonderland' for Xmas today, but Mr. Aguirre gives us the next best thing.

Usually I don't like trance because you have to listen for such a long time relative to the song to get to the melody part and it's boring, but not in this case. The entire song evolves and unravels in such a way that it never feels repetitive (even the intro has subtleties in it to keep it from being a copy-and-paste job), and I'd go as far as to say this song defines the word "trance" in its construction. It manages to settle you down, make you comfortable, and transport your mind completely somewhere else, before bringing it back to rest at the end, thoroughly refreshed. Absolutely impeccable sound design and arrangement.

its been 5yrs and every time i hear this song it still gives me the same exact feeling i had from when i first heard it. There was a time i wanted to give up on music but when i heard this song i was blown away and it encouraged me to continue remixing so if it wasnt for this song i wouldve gave up a long time ago.

Great builds and attention to detail on the production. The reverb on the high end is gorgeous, and the beat is really driving. Great full sound, and an excellent arrangement that uses it's almost 8 minutes very well.
Great stuff.

This is perhaps one of the most airy, relaxing songs I've heard. I can literally lay back and drift off to some peaceful place listening to this.

I know you're doing the whole club mix thing and/but the buildup is fantastic! Kick is strong (woo), the bass is playing one note but the gating/repetitive attackiness takes care of it. Only thing that makes me sad is that once the groove and accompaniment are fully established (1:44) it only repeats once before things change and you add that piano, eventually breakdown and work your way into the B theme - only to completely abandon the A theme in all its beauty.
But if it makes you feel any better, this song has become my Theme for Successful Use of Bathroom! At least the first half.

Here's another bLiNd one I missed. Almost an instant 5-stars in my library. And I reserve 5-stars for ones I know will always be my favorites. Great work again.

As a long-time fan of 'club trance', I must say I am generally skeptical of -- and ultimately bored with -- tracks which are extended to the necessary 'club' length just to be classified as such. It's generally a waste of time for the listener, as what the average 'club' song has to say can be said as effectively in half the time (i.e. radio edit). Fortunately for we OC listeners, Blind has given us a track with substantial build up, climax, and cooldown. All three parts being distinct enough to maintain interest throughout. The synth lead /chords beginning after the first 90 seconds or so really, really get your head bobbing.
I'm surprised by how much I enjoy this track; what could be a generic 'club' length song has genuine appeal and enough evolution to entrance the listener, which, after all, is the goal of 'club trance', I reckon.

This piece is the best trance OC ReMix of the site in my opinion.
I just love bLiNd's sound and the ability to create the perfect atmosphere in his arrangements.

This track rocks. I've been listening to this on loop for about half an hour now, and just felt the need to share.

One of the greatest trance remixes i've ever heard, EVER. Sometimes when I'm sitting in a quite room, I'll start humming the string part that starts at 1:17. The synths are used perfectly.
100/100, this is what i for in a ReMix.
You are my hero bLiNd.
