ReMix:Final Fantasy VII "JENOVA Celestial" 4:08

Arranging the music of one song...
"J-E-N-O-V-A"

Jordan really came through strong for Voices of the Lifestream, with numerous contributions all of which kicked his usually high amounts of posterior. A few initial listeners criticized VotL for having too much emphasis on techno/trance, which I totally disagree with, but what trance IS on the album is seriously high-caliber stuff. JENOVA Celestial is no exception, as bLiNd turns his considerable talents to the J-E-N-O-V-A theme, with unsurprisingly awesometastic results. Hopefully the vast majority of you have not only heard every song off the album, but turned some friends/family/random strangers on to it as well, but in case you haven't, Jordan's track is as good a place to start as any. Project Director Andrew Aversa writes:
"bLiNd was a major force on Voices, contributing to four ReMixes in total and consistently meeting all the deadlines that were set for the project, despite his increasingly busy career as a professional composer & producer. I've always been a HUGE fan of his trance style and this mix really sums it up. With flawless production and mastering that rivals the very best of pro releases and an interpretive, modified harmony structure to give it an 'epic' feel, this is a shining example of an amazing trance remix."
Pretty much; I could certainly be more descriptive and in-depth with this writeup, but I don't think I need to - this is some excellent work that added a lot to the overall project and provides an aggressive, well-produced, and memorable rendition of the theme. We've started a music video competition for VotL, and I hope to see this track paired up with some awesome on-screen action. Very cool.

Just dropping by to say to 13 years later and I still love this remix!

While this track isn't the best J-E-N-O-V-A remix, IMO, I think about this particular song when I think aboutJenova . I dunno why; perhaps, because it the first J-E-N-O-V-A I've ever heard. It's a great track nonetheless - a classic example of classic Jordan's work. Very nice danceable tune with great synths, beats and such.

I've always thought that jenovas theme has been slightly overrated (I've always found it boring for some reason) and from a personal taste stand point, this remix didn't quite fix this problem for me
However, this remix is pretty much in the realms of untouchable from the word go - the production is flawless, and really gives this remix an unparalleled power that really brings it to fantastic heights.
That said, I still find the arrangement of the source slightly boring (but like I said I think its a source dislike so no discredit to blind)
Not his best work imo, but it is probably his most identifiable mix, and for my money the essential jenova remix, which is saying something as their are so many.

Whenever I think Jenova, I think of this. Especially during the intro, I see stars exploding whenever I listen to this.
If someone took the most romanticized version of stars and outer space and distilled it into a song, this would be very, very close to that.
This is definitely one of my favorite Final Fantasy 7 mixes, and I highly recommend it.

We're all aware that JENOVA is one of the most heavily remixed tracks from the FF VII OST. With so many remixes it's hard to distinguish one cut from another. This track, however, shines like a supernova, leaving an unforgettable impression on the listener from beginning to end. If Blind were a newcomer we could throw in a cheesy joke about "a new star being born" (though supernovae are actually the opposite), but given your long history of solid mixing, we'll decide better of it.

This is hot! And not just backup dancers on a music video hot. I mean more like back up dancers on the surface of Mercury hot.
If anyone tells me they dislike or god forbid LOATHE trance music, this is the track I'm going to give them to broaden their tastes. Quite an achievement, but then again, this is bLiNd we're talking about here. He's been doing these amazing pieces for years. And we're all the better for it.

I have no reason to review this, mainly because I believe it's perfect. Seriously. This song rocks.

What I enjoy the most about this track is the "color" of it's sound. It's a very beautiful bright white; as other reviewers have said, it does a lot to convey a sense of the divine and the euphoric.

This is a great remix... just envelopes you in sound. It just sounds so lush and full of beauty. This is the only Jenova remix I've really enjoyed. It's great, it's true to the original song but it's more "alive."

Having (unfortunately) never heard the original, I can't comment on its relevance to the original or whatever, but here goes:
When I mentally dissect this song, I find that bLiNd has interwoven several melodies together, besides the main one, to create a stellar atmospheric trance number. The synth sounds are very well chosen and give this piece a very euphoric feel. Nothing is out of place--each sound that comes in only strengthens the song. Nothing gets old and nothing clashes--a great feat to accomplish in an electronic song. Key changes are simple, but well executed (are those in the original too?). The supporting arpeggios perfectly complement the main melody, and the sounds chosen are the exact right ones.
Overall this is my absolute favorite song on the FFVII album, with good reason. The style just plain WORKS with the melody and tune, and even more so by the fact that it's so well executed.
Sorry for the somewhat disorganized post, but those are my thoughts for ya.

Go on holiday for a few weeks and look what happens. Easily my favourite track off the FFVII project albums.
I loved how he worked the EQ in that one, saved me all the work =)

I find the mix simple in delivery but packs an awesome sound and creative ideas that are just pure ear candy. Really enjoyed how the chords and the FX during the breakdown kept the energy level up without the 4 on the floor.

Loved this one when I heard it on the album, and definately glad it was posted. I really enjoy Blind's stuff, and hope to hear much more of it in the future. Keep up the great work!

Gorgeous. How you manage to make a song sound so full and light simultaneously is beyond me. Really excellent song.
