No real idea on the title for this one - pejorative? honorific? ... sensual? Only Andrew, Andreas, and his mother know for sure. OA writes rather pessimistically:
"No comments; they'll just sound dumb when this gets rejected :P"
Hah! We'll show you! Now he HAS to write comments and give us the full skinny on whether this tea-having actually occured, is set to occur at some future date, or is just a sick figment of his imagination. At any rate, OA follows up his Phoenix Wright debut with some very dainty orchestral coverage from Terranigma. The title DOES mention tea, and whether it's with Snap's mom or others, this piece does have a sort of official, British pomp to it, in addition to being altogether pleasant. Actually, I'm going to go make some tea RIGHT NOW, and enjoy it while finishing up this writeup.
...
Back. Right then, things intro with solo piano, which is a little on the soft side; I was worried that it was going to be an issue if the piece remained solo piano or had a lot of solo passages. Fortunately, strings come in along with bells, winds, and minimal (cymbals, tambourine) percussion, and there's some subtle EP later on. The added volume actually juxtaposes well with the softer piano-only bits, forming a sort of sway that feels like a royal procession. Vinnie says:
"...I have no idea what the hell that title means. Probably that I gotta read the forums more? This was a very solid arrangement of Town (what a boring name, guess you were making up for it). There's nothing too unexpected in it, but you struck a good balance between sticking to the source and doing your own thing. I liked how the melody was used in the foreground and also more in the background at various points. Piano part was original yet reminiscent of the opening of the source, because of the rhythms. Tasteful, complimentary choices of instruments thoughtout, and a smooth flow."
Andrew's first mix also had a pleasant, upbeat vibe, but was overall more aggressive, faster, and... percussive. It's cool to see him already deviating from that sound with this piece, which is mellower and has a regal flair to it. Terranigma's one of those games that has very hardcore fans, and this arrangement is definitely bringing something new to our existing mixes. Check it out (cup of Earl Grey optional) for a relaxing, enjoyable time, and also check out some of the pieces he contributed to Radical Dreamers: Thieves of Fate while you're at it.

Glad that I made it passed the odd name and actually pressed play! I always thought that the more domestic songs from Terranigma (much like the rest of the game,) missed out some attention, which this here piece gives in ample quantities. The sweet, cheerful feel reminds me of town songs from Tales of Symphonia. A lively, lovely, and satisfying mix.

Ah so calming. :3 Playful and inspiring. There are a lot of elements... it feels like wind going through a town, around trees and through chimes. Such a wonderful piece.
Everyone should have tea with SnappleMan's mum! c:

Very nice piece to listen to. Excellent choice of instruments. Definitely enjoyed listening to this. If it was around in 1999 I would've picked this for my wedding song too.

Hey, thanks OA.I just wanted to let you know that last May, when I got married to my terrific wife, we walked down the isle to this song. Due to that fact, this song will always bring a smile to my face whenever I listen to it.
This is totally awesome! Thanks so much for enjoying the song, and congratulations! :-)

Well, that is an interesting ReMix title. Very happy and light-hearted, this one is. It does vaguely have a bit of a garden/tea party sound to it, and it's very pleasant to the ear. I just love how tastefully happy this song is, and while tastefully happy isn't really my thing, this was a wonderfully done ReMix. Great instrument choices, neat arrangement and good production. What a lovely cup o' tea this is.

Would afternoon tea with SnappleMan's mom be this gentle? I would imagine it to be a ruff and tuff affair.
The mix is a nice dainty take on a similarly natured source. It's pretty conservative, but it accomplishes its job solidly. Now if we can only convince more people to mix Terranigma...

... I'm sorry, but the title for this just cracks me up.
This tracks feel rather prim and proper, or rather perfect accompaniment for a spot of tea and couple of scones.
Jolly good show lad!

Frilly! There's a word I haven't used in a comment so far. Very frilly.
Suitable and loyal to the afternoon tea mood and all its connotations: cravats, doilies, sweet rolls, hand-painted crockery. The juxtaposition between that sort of lifestyle and that of a hardcore Terranigma fan amuses me a lot. I smell a sitcom.
It's great music to memorise rules of table etiquette to, not that I ever have/will.
Something to be careful of is to have a determined goal in mind about what the mix is. I mean, I took it as a bit of a joke, but I know that if the mix was somehow supposed to be a classy, refined expansion of taste, the fact I found it funny may be quite insulting. Though, considering how farcical the title is, maybe we can all rest easy on that one.
Fun, whimsical Miyazaki-ish waltz. Is OCR crying out for more in this genre? I think not, but I'm glad another gap in the diverse range of the site had been occupied. Nice work, OA.

OA, you are one of my favorite remixers... this song is amazing. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to your next song!

Haha, thats the second best remix name I have ever come across
Well, I haven't heard the source, but this is great. Unique style, great production, and arrangement. I have nothing bad to say about this

Definitely an afternoon tea-ish atmosphere. As was said before, the strings are what really makes this arrangement. While the parts where they come in are more lively than chilled, they fit the mood perfectly and create an atmosphere and joy and fun without sounding pompous.

Despite what others have said, I think the entire song fits perfectly with an afternoon tea/day on the town with Snapple's mom. Parts of the song really remind me of Howl's Moving Castle (GREAT movie btw) as well as Illusion of Gaia (having never played Terranigma).
There were a couple parts where I didn't think some things fit quite right. Some of the background/countermelody was a little strange to me.
Overall, I love the emotion this has.

This warm and gentle remix has recaptured the precious moments that we've all had with SnappleMan's mom and I would like to thank OA for making it.
Though I did enjoy the first listen of this remix, I find that there is a little more to be desired. Yet, I also feel that pursuing something more "interesting" would also take away from the dreamy and fantasy type feeling. For things like this, just keep it the way it is and let other people sort it out. Both OA's name and the title of the remix caught my attention when downloading this piece as I liked his remix from Phoenix Wright before. It definitely is different, but in a good way.
I am looking forward to more OA ReMixes in the future!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on my remix.
The story behind this isn't quite as funny as it could have been; it's basically just some friendly trash-talking to my friend/nemesis, Snappleman, who gives me great critique occasionally, but mostly just insults. The afternoon tea part is more of the feel of the song itself. The string-heavy sections are all original based on the original's chord progression, BTW.
This song was my introduction to the Dwelling of Duels competition, so I figured i'd need a hardcore name to instill fear into my duel opponents, thus the OA/Hopefails dual name.
One cool trivia fact is that because of this song, no one is allowed to quantize their lead synths for DoD anymore. I'm kinda proud about that one. 3
