He's going the distance... and he's definitely going for speed. Juan's Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World ReMix from Summoning of Spirits is our first from the game and one of only a handful of Wii ReMixes currently on the site. He humbly and succinctly writes:

"Just a last minute bonus remix I did for Kyle's SoS project. Simple rock remix with some synth and violin touches."

Touches? These seem more like fondles, really: the amount of both is significant. Larry actually suggested to Kyle & co. that they include something from this newer, next-gen entry into the Tales universe; he didn't know at the time that Sixto would be the one chippin' in. When I hear "bonus track" I often think quirky, interesting, but not necessarily something that would end up getting posted independent of the overall album. It's good to be proven wrong, though, as in this case the bonus track is an album highlight. Things intro with alternatively panned guit riffs before kicking into some ballsy rock that's not afraid to bust out a melodic, catchy synth solo. Guitars also get melodic lead, usually doubled up with harmony, here and there, but then violin takes over towards the end. Love those quick runs at the three minute marker, and the fearless use of pitch bends for some gypsy flavor. Some of the intervals on the synth solo remind me of Rush's 'Subdivisions', in a good way. Juan kept his comments short & sweet, so I'll do the same here: fantastic mix.

If I were wearing pants, the violins in this track would make them happy. Yeah, I said it.

The intro's got that ...I don't know how to describe it. Japanese influence, I guess. And it just kicks right into the heavy stuff I've come to expect from this remixer. No complaints, except from the downstairs neighbor when I cranked it to 11 and maxed the bass box on my second listen.

This has gotta be one of my favorite Sixto mixes, as well as one of my favorite rock tracks on the entire site! Top-notch work!

I'm a sucker for rock with violin solos. This is no exception. The stereo back and forth at the beginning was a very nice touch as well.

I really need to go to bed, but I just can't stop listening to this.

As far as rock n roll goes, this is litterally the shiznet battle song I have ever enjoyed. I might actually consider this for my youtube video for battle music. A+ Must listen to all or anyone. :nicework::sleepdepriv::nicework:

Another pro-level Sixto rock track? Color me surprised. ;-)

I love the source on this one, and it's one of my favorite tracks on the SoS project. The three different lead sounds keeps things really fresh, and the solo section was excellent. Drums were powerful and tight, and everything clicked super well.

It's awesome, it's Sixto, and it's shred-tastic. :

I've been listening to this song for a while now and it's a really enjoyable listen. This song has the kind of awesome guitar work that I have come to know and love from Sixto Sounds.

Another finely crafted mix! Keep the fabulous mixes coming :) .

This was one of my favorites from the album (and one I've confused with Just Go on more than one occasion). I find myself trying to play it on guitar sometimes... and fail.

This is the kind of rock I enjoy. Great energy, great guitar, great source, great synth work, great... pwnsome stuff.

I'd like to officially say (because I'm not sure if I've said it before, and if I haven't, I'm sorry) that Sixto Sounds is my favorite ReMixer on this site. I love every single track that has come from him - he never fails to amaze me with just how awesome the songs are. Go the Distance is no exception. Keep it up, man, the stuff you do is an inspiration.

(It's not even my favorite genre, and I still love this guy.)

This is Tales of Symphonia: The Fast and the Furious. This remix is awesome, and I don't often say that about mixes with so much heavy guitar. It get's the blood pumping if you know what I mean. I absolutely love the violin thrown in there as well. Great work, can't wait to hear more from you! :)

This is an epic track. Par for the course, maybe even a birdie or eagle, for Sixto as far as I'm concerned. Screw it, he gets an albatross for the tracks from SoS. (That's 3 under par, look it up) This one for sure. And, to be honest, I just stuck this track, and the other two, onto disc 4 of the album in iTunes when I downloaded it. Regardless, great track as usual. And the amount of time this track was finished in? I expect nothing less after hearing the rest of Sixto's work. He's got it down to a science! He gets a doctorate in epicity!
