Happy birthday to the incredible halc! Turns out this chthonic-halc collab was queued just right for some bday postage. Birfday boy Mr. Wheeler writes:
"I've been thinking long and hard about what to say about this ReMix, but all I can come up with is 'omg i love it'. Expect more collaborations from the two of us... we see each other *nearly* everyday (hell, we made this in Ben's girlfriends's bedroom), and I think this stuff is beginning to come quite naturally. Have fun. :3"
There's some sort of lewd joke to be had there involving girlfriend's bedrooms, but I've been playing too much Borderlands and my mind is fried. Co-conspirator Mr. Briggs adds:
"So we made another one! Everything came together much more quickly and easily this time around, except for maybe the ending, but eventually we decided the track was already full-featured enough without including the main overworld theme. Um, other than that, I guess I'll just say that I love this remix, and I can't wait for our next collaboration. Enjoy!"
I can't refer to halc and chthonic as the "Batman & Robin of Chippish OC ReMixes", because they're BOTH Batman, but you get the idea. On their own, each is capable of greatness, and they also work fantastically & naturally as a pair. The two of them did a great job (!) with this LttP arrangement, which is all sorts of mellow, major-key, upbeat chippish synth loveliness. Plenty of modulation, gated cross-panning (hell, there might even be crossed gate-panning, too...), loads of syncopated nano-beats, and more. It's all rather blissful, and the bottom line is that if you're feeling down, this'll pick you up, and if you're already on cloud nine, this'll take you to ten. Seems like an appropriately euphoric, celebratory fit for a birthday. Continued superlative work by both artists!

This tune makes me happy, sad and nostalgic at the same time. It's beyond great and stirs the emotions pretty hard.

Chippy and happy, just what I've come to expect from the terrific two known as Insert Rupee. Makes you want to skip down a road from pure nostalgia mixed with wonderful instrumentation and arrangement skills. LttP is one of those games where ReMixes can shine depending on how it's handled, and these two handled it like pros. Very cool.

Manages to be upbeat relaxed at the same time. It's rare for a chiptune to evoke a feeling this relaxed, so the remix at hand is a welcome variation from the usual fare.
Nice work, guys.

Hi, first post actually!
Been a long time fan of OCRemix but this song just made me want to join the forum.
I absolutely love what was done with this mix, for some reason this theme doesn't get more love so it was wonderful to hear it again. My favorite part of the track is at 2:10 to 2:55 when it gets a bit creative with the harmony, it hits like a nostalgic punch to the face.
Amazing work, guys!

Oh man, I love how happy tracks made by both these artists sound. It's like chocolate chip cookies for my ears. These are easily two of my favorite OCR artists, and together they really killed this track.

I fell asleep listening to OCAD and came to listening to this mix. I woke up happy.
Then I read the description.
More happy.

What do you get when you mix two of the chippy-est remixers together for a track? Well, usually you end up with a lot of empty potato chip bags, but that's not the case here. As always, great use of stutter and glitch effects throughout, and really appropriate choice of leads and pad support. Production couldn't be better for the feeling I believe the remixers were trying to evoke. A perfect blend of the two peoples, since I can't tell who did what, and even if I could, it doesn't matter anyway.
....umm...good job!

Man, this is what I've been waiting for! Two of my favorite OCReMixers, and one of my all-time favorite VG tracks. This is exactly the kind of treatment this song needed. The vibe of this mix fits the accomplished feeling you get at the end of the game. If only all credits had this feel to them. =)
I love it.

I have only one thing to say about this remix.
Great Job!
oh yeah... I went there.

I have quite literally been listening to this all day. I can't stop listening to it. I'm not sure what you fellows were going for, but your track managed to put me in that most rarefied of moods: reflective. Thanks for that.
