Why stop at one Junkie when you can have two?? Ben's companion bubble junkie is here to give halc's spring junkie some addicted-but-funky company with an excellent take on the 'Labyrinth' theme.

"I think I finally managed to get Ben back into remixing solo after dragging him through a couple collabs (ha ha). This was his first attempt at a solo mix in several years (preceding his somewhat-recent "Castlemania 2010" remix), so I was happy to kick my Labyrinth mix to the curb and give him the spot. A day or two later, he handed me a finished track, and suffice to say, he knocked it out of the park. FAT bass and punchy breakbeats accompany an army of chiptune sounds and a Daft Punk-esque talkbox lead; fun, nostalgic, and downright badass. I've always kinda thought of it as the "poster child" of the album, and it is an honor to have it included.

What he said; Drew and Ben are collectively Insert Rupee, so it's perhaps not surprising they appreciate each other's solo work, but it's also hard NOT to, no matter who you are. That talkbox lead is just too perfect for the main melodic riff; it creates an insta-hook that functions on all levels to ingrain its funky twists and turns into your cerebral cortex, and the overall quantities of beefy bass & crunchy, shuffling drums are at least 1000% your recommended daily values. I am very addicted to this mix. I need to find a way to sneak into Mr. Briggs' basement and watch him. And live there like a hobo.

I love this track, it's clearly one of my favorites from SoS. For me there're probably 3 details that make this mix that awesome: crunchy glitchy percussion, tastefully used in-game FX and funky talkbox lead. Awesome upbeat bouncy goodness!

Let me get this out of the way real quick: I hated Labyrinth Zone. It was the zone that almost always got me way back when. And it was almost as if it was taunting me by playing that great music while killing or drowning me. That aside, this is my personal favorite ReMix off the album. The sound effects were used to perfection and the Daft Punk-ish talkbox lead was utterly sweet. The melody is as cool as I remembered it and the Special Stage theme was tied in pretty well. Enjoyed this one very much.

The talkbox lead is brilliant, clearly echoing the distinctive "oh-up" sound Sonic makes upon inhaling a bubble. This is one of my faves from Sonic 1, and this mix totally does it justice.

LOVE this track. On an album full of winners, this one sticks with me even more than the rest. The build to the climax at 3:12 and the stuttered modified beat that drives this track home in the final few seconds is worth a few listens all by itself!
