Arranging the music of one song...
"Peaceful Days"

Harjawaldar (Mads Smebakk) debuted on OCR back in 2010 with a great Zelda solo guitar arrangement, and now he brings us another lovely, mellow, picked & strummed acoustic guitar masterpiece, this time adding organ in for a folksy, celebratory vibe:
"I've been wanting to do this one for a long time, and when I saw it was Japan Month on DoD I couldn't resist! This is one of my favorite themes from a game full of great music. I've sort of found a my own formula for doing acoustic remixes now so I went with that."
Good formula; I especially liked the addition of organ accompaniment and the meticulous attention paid to panning, which brings out the definition & natural sounds of the layered guitars. Of course, back in 2006 I added vocals & lyrics to Taucer's acoustic guitar rendition of this source that I'm also quite partial to, but instrumentation & singing aside these are still two very different arrangements, with their own voice. halc writes:
"beautiful performance and arrangement! I think some additional instrumentation could have really set this off, but the acoustic treatment is good too, and the pad support near the end was a nice touch. no qualms here, I enjoyed this mix a lot!"
Nutritious adds:
"Very nice performance here. Clever use of panning to fill out the soundscape and separate the parts... Nice expansion on the source tune in the various added parts and flourishes. Goes into original territory for a while after the initial run though, which had me a bit worried, but you brought things back soon after and had some nice variations on the themes as the song progressed."
Offering a perfect warm & cozy fireside ambiance for the winter weeks ahead, this mix is a well-timed acoustic tribute to 'Peaceful Days' and provides 2012 with its very first Chrono Trigger ReMix, too!

I feel a modern version of Chrono Trigger would have to feature this song. It's beautiful.
Wholeheartedly agree with this. Such a wonderful and gorgeous arrangement for a great song. Acoustic guitars are like the pianos of stringed instruments to me, so hearing something like this and hearing the beauty of it is awesome. Some parts actually make me think of the village in Zelda: LttP. So warm and comfortable. Love this ReMix for sure.

Also this track makes me wonder why nobody had the idea of an OCR-Unplugged album
Agreed.
Very relaxing piece we have here. And I agree with what others said about the organ; it really adds that certain something which makes the mix more than "just" a nice, acoustic song. I actually wish there would have been more organ.

Very nice
I think some light percussion would really make this pop. Maybe some shaker/tambourine lovin'.
It's pretty close to the original but has enough variance to keep me interested. Very good performance though, I know how hard it is to get a good acoustic sound.

Very nice very nice. I usually prefer electric guitar RAWK, but I still loved this. Very relaxing and great to sit back and listen to. Awesome stuff!

Very nice remix, I really enjoyed the guitar but when the organs came they really complemented the rest of the piece very well. Good stuff

This one is great. At first it seemed it's just a straight cover but later it expanded and blew me away. That organ near the end was a really nice touch.
Also this track makes me wonder why nobody had the idea of an OCR-Unplugged album xD

The acoustic guitar sound pulled me in and kept hold of me throughout this track.
the original source is great already but this remix just makes you want to sit outside in the sun and just relax in the breeze.
