I'm waiting to play P4A until I've finished P4G on my Vita, but I'm a huge fan of the series, and P3P was one of the few games I actually beat in 2012. Shoji Meguro's music is a HUGE part of the appeal - he's got something very unique, very anime, and very GOOD going on, and he deserves a TON of respect and acclaim, and MORE REMIXES. Here to help on that count is DarkeSword, who put together the Apex 2013 album & chipped in with two mixes, one from SSBB & then this Persona 4 Arena arrangement:
"The title theme of Persona 4 Arena is a very straight up Japanese rock track, so I wanted to go in a little bit of a different direction. I mixed together some chip sounds, jazzy drums and rhodes, and my own classic fakey sax sound for a bumpin' backing track to a combo video. The more relaxed section in the middle is for the part of the video where you can review the techniques in slo-mo. Hopefully, some enterprising video editor/Persona 4 fanboy has some fun with this."
DAT FAKEY SAX. Vintage Ansari, that is. At 2'38" this is definitely a little slight, but that's why it's LITTLE Arena, see? The beginning is almost straight uptempo lounge, with a nice upright acoustic bass & EP vibe going on, then things get synthier and beatier when the main groove and melodic riff enter. At 0'59" it's time for some hot fakey sax action, as promised, and the dropout on the beats gives you some space to appreciate the percolatin' background arpeggio work. That's pretty much all she wrote, and I'm a little bummed Shariq didn't work in another theme and flesh this out into something longer, but this is a solid, short-but-sweet jam that takes the rock source down a completely different path, and the results are swingin' & swayin' - plus more Persona can ONLY ever be a good thing. Check it out, then check out the rest of Straight to the Top!

Catchy little number. For some reason, I was inspired to say that after hearing the main melody. The fake sax fits well and I like the arp backing it up a lot, really dreamy. Fun stuff, wish it was longer.
Slightly off subject, I've been playing P3P for 11 of the last 21 hours and that OST is killer.

Nice, even though the sax is fake, it actually is done really well and fits in context.

This is pretty damn catchy. I just love the lounge vibe of this track, which makes it relaxing and energetic at the same time. Crazy combos here, man. That sax, fakey or not, is a great addition to the second half of this ReMix. Bit-sized, but very fun to listen to.

This reminds me a little bit of the old days of playing gameboy advanced games without headphones and always hearing only so much of the music and then putting on headphones and hearing the music so much better. I love the jazzy synth and the groove of the mix. Really awesome stuff!

Definitely reminds me of some old-school McVaffe grooves. Cool to see you still pumping out remixes Shariq, you've got a style all your own!

A very short, but very sweet take on the title theme to Persona 4 Arena. I loved the sax usage in the second half. This arrangement would fit right in with one of the live Persona concerts. Here's hoping this leads to more Persona 4 ReMixes down the road, Arena or otherwise.
