Torzelan (Joachim Sandberg) makes his OCR debut with this biting, aggressive, metal MMX8 mix from Maverick Rising that's book-ended by a deceptively innocent music box (love that winding effect) but has wicked quantities of shreddage, chuggage, and machine-gun drummin' mojo. The artist writes:
"Things are about to get serious and this ominous track is the build-up. The original was already "epic," but I wanted it to hit you with some heavy too. The dual-meaning title (interpretable both as "March of the Strong/Iron Will" and the more literal "Iron Shall March") reflects the feeling and imagery meant to be conveyed with the music; the Mavericks' obsession with a "new world" and violent advances to make it so."
I love the double-reading; it's the type of thing that's fun when it's a happy accident, but even better when it's intentional. Joachim certainly hits us with some heavy, and if the badass rhythm guitars aren't enough for you, those leads at 1'57" up the ante even further. Album director Bahamut writes:
"Just as "VS Lumine ~ The First Form" from Mega Man X8 is the beginning of the final battle in that game, "Iron Will March" is the start to the final battle in Maverick Rising. Joachim put together a great track for building up anticipation for the big fight with the blast beats and dramatic synths. The guitars add a great touch to it as well."
I've seen Torzelan's name around for a good while, and he actually won the Sonic Snowboard for the promotion/contest we did for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games way back in 2010 - hopefully he's been putting that bad boy to good use. This track is a great, high-energy debut mix & contributed a lot of strength to the (well-represented) metal contingency on MR; definitely looking forward to hearing what else he has in store!

Absolutely fantastic. This is tear-your-mother's-face-off-and-feed-it-to-you metal, and it's what a final boss theme should BE. The soft opening gives it just enough nuance and character, and the build-up to that initial crash is done perfectly. The way the rhythm bass mimics the wind-up noise at the start is brilliant. Almost makes me want to play the game.
Almost.

That intro.....holy crap man, so good! Now this is what a battle against a powerful enemy is supposed to sound like. And after 1:57 hit, damn! I particularly like how you can hear the guitar getting ready to hit as the music box was winding down instead of just stopping the box and going to guitar. The combination of metallistic guitar playing, rapid drums and even a little ominous music box at the beginning and end, just fantastic! Wonderful debut!

This track has stayed with me so much that when I get WWE 13 it will be my created characters entrance music. Just an awesome track hope to hear more.

Holy cow, this sounds really muddy on skullcandies. I also hear
loads of clipping. o.o Hopefully it would sound better on good
headphones. Left those at home.
EDIT: My bad. I actually had two windows open at the same time,
each playing offsetted (apparently Firefox things offsetted isn't
a word) youtube video previews, and they screwed up the sound. xD
Yeah, sounds great.

It feels like lately all the remixes posted go by so quickly...by the time I'm really "feeling them", they are over ! Maybe I just need to listen harder.
An energetic mix, 7/10!

Already wondered why this wasn't posted together with Sixto's "Winged Reploid" as a teaser for the album.
Both sound really awesome and fit perfectly for the end of the soundtrack. I really like the slow beginning which turns into a massive monster.
And the part from 2:26 ongoing is just f****** awesome!
