Hope you enjoyed our Halloween "Electrovania" Special! As a reminder, if you purchased For Everlasting Peace on iTunes, we could REALLY using more ratings & reviews!! And if you pre-ordered the physical on CD Baby, you should know that we're placing the manufacturing order THIS weekend and they should be in stock around the end of November and reach you before Xmas! Now on with the show... Argle (Adam Kirby) surprises & delights with a fresh, upbeat electronic take on Oblivion which - while still working in some orchestral flavors, to be sure - has more beats & synths than I'm used to hearing from an Elder Scrolls mix, and is generally more aggressive, while still packing a lot of the retro-flavorings that Adam does so well:

"One of my favorite themes from Oblivion is the enchanting piano melody you hear every so often when you're exploring the world. It has a kind of loneliness to it, which is fitting for the massive wilderness environment of Cyrodiil."

Not so lonely any more! Argle's given the motif plenty of company, with gated synths, breakbeatish drums, pulsewave leads, electric guitar @ 1'30", nice exposed string stabs backing up acoustic piano @ 1'55", and epic cinematic percussion that gets added in soon after. I'd say things climax at around 2'34", but Adam breaks things down and deconstructs the layers afterwards, halving the tempo @ 2'59" for the remaining minute or so as things march onward & outward. This is only our second posted mix from Oblivion specifically, though plenty of Jeremy Soule's other magnificent works have been arranged, including mixes of Skyrim & Morrowind. You don't hear Elder Scrolls done in this particular blend of retro-electronic/orchestral too often, and it wasn't a title I was expecting Argle to turn his attention to, but I'm sure glad he did. Great stuff; high-energy, slightly throwback electronic jam that still tastefully & effectively incorporates orchestral + cinematic elements for a fun ride with a vast scope!

Super-psyched to hear a source tune OTHER than the main Elder Scrolls theme!

The main theme is good, but Auriel's Ascension is my favorite.

I love the Oblivion soundtrack - it's one of those that I put on just to chill out to, and it's great to see another remix up on OCR!

This mix in particular is extremely slick and sounds like something zircon would do. Love the intricate guitar solos and synth work, in addition to the massive range of percussion and breakbeats. There's clearly been a lot of effort put into this, and it really shows. Awesome work!

Oh, man, I'm just digging the breakbeat drums and the electric guitar work in this ReMix. And of course anything with some nice piano in it is music to my ears. Sweet stuff here, Argle!
