More new faces! Sonic CD: Temporal Duality's management has done a brilliant job in reaching out to other corners of the Internet & taking an inclusive approach, and it's really paid off, I'd say. Here with a sexy funk jam that has a Latin shuffle/rhythm to it is newcomer Andy Tunstall:
"A lot of inspiration for this song came from Quantic, Daft Punk, and Funk Fiction's work. I originally just wanted to remix Tidal Tempest's Bad Future, but ended up incorporating elements from the Past and Present songs as well. I wanted to go for a track that consistently evolved and didn't get too repetitive. I had a blast working on this song! I never really get much time to remix songs, so I had a lot of fun with overcoming this new challenge."
The guitar here really sells things, and everything is rather lithe & seductive - never gets so mellow as to lounge, per se, but still very social & crisp & appropriate for cocktails of your choice. SCD:TD Director SuperiorX writes:
"Some of you may be familiar with Andy Tunstall and Funk Fiction from their work on the excellent Sonic: Before the Sequel and Sonic: After the Sequel fan-game soundtracks. And if you're not, then, you should check them out, because both are really solid. So it was really exciting that I was able to get both artists to contribute a track to Temporal Duality.
Andy brings us his take on "Tidal Tempest" JP, which really gives me this island/tropical night-life kind of vibe. Things start out pretty chill with some atmospheric pads and some syncopated percussion parts to set the mood, but then the second half really kicks things up a notch with some awesome electric guitar soloing and accompaniment parts. He also makes great use of the stereo-space to really pull you into the mix. The result is a really enjoyable track that you can really get your groove on to!"
Matt sums it up nicely; very posh, very nightlife, perhaps in Havana, perhaps with mojitos... impeccable execution and extremely classy production make for yet another impressive debut mixpost from Temporal Duality!!

This track is so sexy that not even a quote from The Room was able to ruin it.

As the track progresses, we go from slow and soothing to a more upbeat presentation of what is soothing. Very experimental, groovy and fun from start to finish. Lovely outro too.

Yeah, this definitey has some night tropical flavor to it. The funky guitar combined with shufflin' drums sounds amazing. But my most favorite part starts at 2:58 (dat rhodes). The outro, which has some sorta ethreal feeling, is lovely as well.

DJP and SuperiorX were right on the money when they said this had a sweet nightlife feel to it. Very tropical in a chill, static-like energy kind of way, and I gotta give props to the guitar work and ever-varying beat. Slow going outro worked nicely for me and I always have to make a note of clever mix titles. Great debut, man.

This remix sounds so consistent with the Sonic aesthetic, it just feels really natural. The funk guitars and shuffling drum beat are awesome. I'm really glad we were able to get Andy and Funk Fiction on the project after their AMAZING work on the ATS and BTS soundtracks!

I first learned of Andy's work from the Sonic: After The Sequel OST. He had some phenomenal mixes on there and...that doesn't change here. This is top notch stuff.
Very, very cool.
