Time for some DUBSTEP! Newcomer Kruai makes his mark on Temporal Duality with the wobbles & wubs & a WHOLE LOT MORE, offering up an aggressive electronic take 'Collision Chaos':

"Like every other track I make, this track sounded completely different when I started it. It was going to be a much less funky house track, but after experimenting with guitar and acoustic bass sounds, it turned into a much groovier piece of music. This is the piece that really taught me about EQing and mastering. SuperiorX, Phonetic Hero, and Swann were all very helpful in giving me advice on how to master a piece, and I applied the knowledge I gleaned from them to make this sound a lot cleaner... "clean" being a relative term for this kind of music. The most trouble I had with this piece was that two of my synths would clash at VERY specific points in time to make a weird crunchy noise. It took a lot of tweaks to make it listenable again. But it seems that the harder I work on a piece, the better it feels to complete it! Thanks so much for listening!"

Things intro straight up funky but get more electronic at 0'17", with the full onslaught dropping in @ 1'09" - SICK. Difficult not to like, in my book, but then again dubstep tends to polarize certain folk. I'll say this: there's actually a LOT of melodic emphasis here, a lot of funk, some chip, some acoustic components, and it's not just wubs + FX, but when they DO hit, they hit HARD. Which is as it should be. It's not that the dubstep is dialed back, in other words, but that the funk & melody are dialed up to match, which produces a pretty damn sweet mix. SuperiorX writes:

"Kruai brought a really impressive electro/dubstep style to this arrangement, which is all the rave these days in modern music. Yet it also has this very refreshing funky & groovy vibe to it that makes it such an addicting listen. The synth leads are juicy, the bass is gritty and unforgiving, the drops are intense, and the song is overall loud and in your face (in a good way). All while maintaining a nice sense of balance and some excellent layering of all of these detailed textures. Kudos!"

Precisely my feelings; I applaud Kruai for pulling no punches but still making something recognizable, focusing so much on the source, and adding more than just a dash of funk to spice things up. SupX summed it all up nicely - another fresh face off of Temporal Duality, and another steller ReMix!

Actually, I'd heard this on Kruai's Tindeck before this album was released and I was hooked. Even then it was something great. There aren't so many takes on this theme, so one more Remix of it is nice. Excellent funky, head-bopping dubstep here!

Pretty neat stuff dude. The only thing that really bothers me is the bright lead and the rising stabs, but other than that, great production.

this source has always been one of my favourites from the OST and I'm glad this songs does it justice. It's definitely different in style from the original but it keeps that funky/poppy feel. Makes me want to move around just as much as the original.

When I heard dub-step and saw the mix title, I was expecting much different. While I don't hate dubstep to begin with, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with this ReMix. The dub is used nicely in moderation around some "funkilectronica" and it's hard not to groove to this one. Very cool combo and I'm impressed by the balance of rough sounds and funky melody. Sweet as hell!

Yeeeeee, this is probably my favourite track on the album (with a ton of close seconds, of course!). Really awesome stuff! So powerful, so groovin'!
