Arranging the music of one song...

Ole`!!! Guifrog takes on Conker's BFD with some ebullient, matador-friendly electronic paso doble, complete with RAD CASTANET LICKS!! Something rather new, something rather different, but always a good time & always energetically-sequenced & ornately-arranged music from Guifrog:
"I decided to send this at last. This is the Conker's Bad Fur Day "Ole`!!!" mix that made me win 2nd place in Best Remix category from the 2012 Game Music Brasil contest, but I wonder how OCR would judge it. The idea's very simple and a bit nonsensical because, y'know, Conker's game has plenty of nonsense! That said, I think we had enough of bullfighting: if Conker can have his beers, girls and untz untz, the bulls also have those rights. End! XD"
Nice segue into bovine rights at the end, there; the practice does seem a little dated, and I think we should start thinking of mammals (i.e. anything with a neocortex) as, at the very least, capable of experiencing pain and suffering in ways similar to ours. Maybe it's just me, but there's almost a psytrance vibe to this at time - I'm probably just recalling "Time to Oil Up" :) There's a similar blend of traditional folk instrumentation, in this case Spanish, and a pulsing, driving electronic beat & bass. Liontamer opines:
"Let's just get one thing out of the way: the original song is great, and Rare's Robin Beanland is a boss. In the arrangement, the brass samples sparingly used here weren't as swanky as the original song IMO, but they weren't a focal point by any means. Guifrog knocked this one out of the park in terms of the energy and instrumentation. The guitar and hand percussion were both excellente, and I was surprised at how well the transitions & tradeoffs with the electronic elements clicked. This mix is another great example of holding fairly fast to the structure of the source material but kicking things up a notch and introducing new, surprisingly complimentary genre ideas into the picture. Olé!!!"
Right-on; something unique from Guifrog, while still maintaining all of what made his previous mixes so good & so much fun, that fully embraces an awesome source tune & pumps it up!

Listening to this one on repeat. So upbeat! ^__^
I love the chimes and chirping, 0:57-0:59.

Ole! Haha, bulls and beers, how appropriate of a title for this ReMix. Can't get enough of those castanets! Electronic mixed with matador-esque Spanish sound, now that's unique and fun as hell to listen to. Recommended for sure and sounds like a home run from Guifrog if I've ever heard one.

The second this started, I could tell it was going to be one of those remixes that was going to be a seriously solid song full of awesome, beers and bulls. Thank you, Guifrog, you've delivered charmingly.

This is great! The samples work well together and everything is solid. This had me saying "Ole!" while listening.
