KIRBY DOES KIRBY!!! It had to happen, right? Argle (Adam Kirby) adds another notch to the belt of excellent arrangements he's contributed since his first mixpost back in late 2012, and finally succumbs to the inevitable & focuses his intentions on the pink, fluffy protagonist of his surname with this peppy, electronic dance take on the first GB game; he describes the mix as follows:
"What it would sound like if Kirby busted a move after the end of the game instead of floating off into the sunset."
It's happy, it's chippy, it's upbeat, and just like Mike's preceding Wild Arms mix, it's hard not to smile & nod your head a bit while listening. Turns out this wasn't a coincidence, as Larry happened to queue up some back-to-back positive beats for the people to enjoy:
"I picked this to roll after Flexstyle's mix as a nice one-two punch of upbeat material to get folks smiling. This retains a lot of the fun energy identified with Kirby music while giving it that dance spin.
The build was fairly long (nearly a quarter of the piece) given that this was under 4 minutes, but Argle kept things interesting and engaging with the opening ethereal rendition of the source. The beat stayed steady throughout and could have used some more variations, BUT the subtle glitching and stutters introduced at 1:43 didn't escape my radar, and I was comfortable with that approach. The chip lead at 2:20's bridge was a brief but excellent changeup, and everything following it - from 2:42's shift back to the ethereal lead alongside a more robotic-style chip line fading in at 2:55 - closed things out on a fresh, creative note. And a very sudden finish, OMG HOW DARE! [sic] Adam's one of the newer regulars in the community whose stuff I keep looking forward to; he can't be pegged to one style, so be sure to check out everything he's got!"
Ditto all that; great variety on his mixes & good job of changing up sources as well. I REALLY love the synth lead programming here; it's not just that it's glitched, it's HOW, and the sequencing capitalizes on it, making for a graceful, playful lead line that hits its stride @ 1'15" on the second repetition of the super-catchy chorus. Fun stuff, through and through, props to Kirby for some excellent Kirby & for another stellar jam!

So. Cheerful.
"I'm so sweet, I've got rotting teeth and gums." XD
My absolute favourite bit is the outro from 3:12.

Major props - a relatively non-mainstream song off a relatively non-mainstream game, and yet this song absolutely nails it. Impressive mixing and beat here - I dare anyone to listen to this and not have their mood improved. I loved the description, too. What if Kirby decided to bust a move at the end of the game? I think we now know. And my day is better as a result.
I always like when I can remix a theme that no one has done yet. Or at least hasn't been posted on OCR yet.

That was ridiculously cheerful.
STOP BEING RIDICULOUSLY CHEERFUL!
Seriously, though, my dog is giving me the strangest look right now. All I did was spin in my chair while listening; you'd think I was doing something weird.

Didn't expect to hear this song remixed -- love it. Had a little jam session on my way to work this morning.

So much happiness and joy contained in one little mix. I swear most of these Kirby mixes are like candy full of sugar, and I'm okay with that. Nice glitching effects and sweet arrangement overall.

Oh yes, my favorite tune from Kirby's Dream Land. And so groove, I can't stop listening
