Arranging the music of one song...
"Staff Roll"

Greg was all over Portrait of a Plumber, contributing some great tracks that helped shape the presiding aesthetic. This arrangement of the staff roll theme is nothing but pleasant, taking the original & sprucing it up with some lovely string writing, mixed percussion, piano, and later on gettin' friskier with a ska-style offbeat and electric guitar. Album director Nutritious writes:
"Greg's 4th(!) mix on the album really wraps up our album "portrait" fantastically. He manages to really channel the upbeat nature of Koji Kondo's work with this track, which really felt like the way a song like this should be approached. Again, major props to Greg for all of his work on this project for a very long time. Without him, this album wouldn't be where it is today."
This is definiftely celebratory, fireworks-going-off, people-dancing, statues-of-emperor-palpatine-being-pushed-over material, giving off the appropriate vibe of a long journey having finally come to a successful resolution. Greg says:
"This is another SM64 track that I've always wanted to remix, which intentionally turned out similar to my "Day's End" track. Especially with this source, I wanted to keep the feel of the original, though also not just being a sample upgrade. This has been 98% complete since early 2011 and thankfully survived two workstation changes with the arrangement mostly intact. Originally, I had envisioned this remix as the final chapter of some sort of "Devastation's Doorway" - "Devastation's Duel" - "See You Next Time" connection. (The "D" alliteration didn't work with this one.) I hope it's enjoyed half as much as I enjoyed producing it!"
This is a little more sugary and less assertive than much of Greg's work, prompting the following from OA:
"beyond some production choices, I would have never guessed that this was Greg's, based on the melody chosen to remix, as I am more accustomed to him managing some strut-worthy badass beats. The samples on their own are a bit weaker, but layered as they are, they work pretty well, and have a good feeling to them. A really nice style surprise from Sole Signal here, I dig it! "
I think this is a perfect closer for an album focusing on SM64; it has that upbeat shine & polish, with a hint of wistful longing. Greg really layered things up & panned things out, resulting in a very full sound that serves the material well, and the end result is something that has almost a seasonal/holiday vibe to it. Sole Signal was a huge part of Portrait of a Plumber; everything Greg contributed was great, and this penultimate track served as a fitting send-off. Enjoy!

Wow, this is excellent. The choice of direction to arrange this track is awesome. Nice instrumentation, I like how it really fits a Mario soundtrack. The fake guitar still fits, it sounds funny (who am I to say that lol) The later parts really sound nostalgic and epic at the same time, which fits a Credits arrangement. Nice job!

This is not that close to a straightforward interpretation of the theme, despite how it starts. Those cross-panning and orch-hit-esque contributions make this more of a happy and prospective credits theme than a reminiscent one IMO. The random fake guitar was funny and I think it still fit in well due to the mixing. There are times where I wished the harmonies did something other than what it did, but that's not a big deal. Overall this was still a fantastic and nostalgic way to end the album!

Beautiful and terrific feeling of accomplishment in this ReMix. Great for a mix of the credits theme. Nice piano and guitar work as well.

if this game ever got a remake I imagine it would've been composed like this

This is very similiar to his MK64 mix. Awesome upbet goodness right here. This defintely feels like a Staff Roll. And happy piano along with dynamic strings makes this feeling even stronger.

What a lovely song! That electric guitar is clearly having a good time, and so am I. I get an "everything's going to be all right, so maybe do a little dance" sort of vibe. A fun, fitting end.
