Next up is Phonetic Hero, with his own arrangement of Shuttle Rush, also incorporating some chiptune elements but in an upbeat, breakbeat context with some key orchestral components, including a nice legato brass part that features prominently later on. So it's kinda like... epic-chip-breakbeat-soundtrack. Yeah. Shuttle Rush composer DaMonz writes:
"With this track, I think Pete did a wonderful job of taking the original's direction and expanding it further. Of course, the ReMix prominently has Pete's own signature, but I feel it attempts to delve deeper into the original intent of the source track. And it works.
The progression feels perfectly natural, and the atmosphere is skillfully constructed all the way through. The slow, gradual evolution keeps things very interesting, until the climactic synth lead solo perfectly takes the stage that was patiently set from the beginning. Amazing work!"
It's one heck of a synth solo, no doubt. Larry writes:
"If you're looking to chill out, "Observate" by DaMonz is a true gem on the Shuttle Rush OST, so pick that up on OverClocked Records. This was smart stuff from Pete that keeps a good chunk of the original's melodic structure intact while using a hybrid of synths with brass & piano, but then ramps it up midway at 2:48 to hit you with a lot of awesome electronic flourishes. The brass sequencing was too tight in places, but things clicked so nicely overall, and the synergy of organic instrumentation with electronic reminded me a bit of other ReMixers who pull it off well, like Nutritious. Great flow and development here by Phonetic Hero!"
4'17" is an explosively fun catharsis of spiraling synth noodling, but the overall arrangement also packs a lot of substance, with moments of reflection & beauty peppered throughout a landscape of quick beats & synths. Great stuff; hopefully these two mixes compel you to check out the rest of the FREE Shuttle Remix arrange album, and if you like what you hear, consider sending DaMonz your hard-earned $3 and pick up the OST!!

Interesting mix -- it starts off as a cinematic track, but quickly evolves into something else. The blend of electro elements and orchestral stuff works quite well here. Some samples sounded a little off (the brass at some points), but other than that, no problem. Neat percussion too. Nice job!

The brass, piano, and the percussion in this track is amazing. A perfect balance of electronic music and orchestrated music. I could see myself racing through space at the speed of light to something like this.

Love the intro build to this one. Phonetic Hero's percussion skills are strong and it served him well in this. Maintains some beautiful sounds while spreading some breakbeat all around, which sounds great. Great use of the piano, synths and brass for sure.

Gotta admit that this is unexpected for me. I've heard some of Pete's stuff and it was mostly percussion-heavy tracks with some synth and other stuff. But when I've heard piano and brass and other orchestral goodness, I was quite surprised in a good way. Of course, the percussion breaks in later, but the track doesn't become less good. BTW, I've got some similiarity of this and "Mega Blocked" in bass melody. Maybe it's just me... Anyway, superb thing, it's worth your listening.
