More PMD:RRT from TGH, who essentially now OWNS the game on OCR, from a database perspective. So many acronyms... This one's actually a rare resub for Jamison, whose initial version didn't quite deliver in the drums dept. - which is rather important, for a DnB track. Not to worry, since he's not only beefed all of that up, he's basically rebuilt the whole track, for the better:
"Hey, guys! This is a resub of a mix I subbed like two years ago and was rejected on account of poor percussion. This resub sounds a bit more like DnB should sound. :) So... after two years of originally submitting this to you guys, I recently decided to just completely re-do this one. Needless to say, the production is MUCH improved, the drums sound much better and sit better in the mix...oh yeah, and everything else sounds better too. :)
Here was my original submission description:
"Alright so, got an inspiration to do a remix in a DnB style a la Pendulum. It originally was supposed to be just a mix of Great Canyon, but Sky Tower somehow found its way in there. You guys might remember one of my (really) early submissions called "To the Hill of the Ancients," a remix of Great Canyon; well, this one's a lot better than that. Hope you guys enjoy. :D""
OA writes:
"The builds and falls are really nice, and the sounds are gelling very strongly. The sequencing is exciting and vibrant, and the beat is mixed up enough to feel dynamic. Nice breaks and builds, and a good source choice rounds this out as being a solid track; i'm very glad you revisited this one."
Some of those spiraling, winding leads reminded me of the Aquaria soundtrack, specifically the track Danny B ReMixed - if you liked that, you'll love this. Shariq Ansari, on the other hand, absolutely HATED this ReMix in every way:
"Wow check that bass. Super meaty. Really killer track man. Not surprised, I love me a good GuitahHeroe track and this doesn't disappoint. Impeccable soundscapes, great dynamics, creative arrangement, stellar execution. What a treat.
The part where you pull back the energy around 1:53 is so great. There's a great slow build back up to bringing the dnb percussion back into the mix in earnest, and when we get it, we get this great half-time section that still keeps that great dreamy soundscape going. Fantastic."
Remember when I said DarkeSword hated this mix? I lied. Great stuff from Jamison, who resurrects & reimagines one of his earlier efforts & ends up with something absolutely up to the high level of quality, energy, & rockin' synths/beats of his best!

2:38 to 3:00 is amazing. It is like a moment of great aspiration that reaches for the stars.

I like how melodically driven this mix is; it especially shines in the 2:40 section (nice halftime too). The soundscape is pretty nice; good sound choices. Good stuff.

Interesting DnB/dubstep take on this source -- the drums are very well executed. Super tight production. The choice of synths/bass is excellent too, it creates an interesting soundscape. Nice work!

I like this remix a lot (it's almost as good as "Secretive Terrors"). Also I'm one of the few who preferred the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to Explorers (I found original's fun and whimsical feel to be more enjoyable than the sequel's dark, edgy, almost nihilistic feel). Keep up the good work.

Ah, yes, DnB with a vibe that could be traced to Pendulum. Well, I'm already sold. Then throw out there that TGH was the one that did it and with a source from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and hell, the enjoyment factor is a foregone conclusion. Let's face it, he ReMixed it, he nailed it, and he's going home with it. The production sounds great and I love the feel of this arrangement. Great job.

When I saw the game in question it was no Pokemon Mystery as to who was behind this ReMix, but it is a little baffling how TheGuitahHeroe nails it time and time again. I absolutely love the percussion, so it must have been one doozy of an overhaul.

This is pretty neat. I think it could have used a stronger melodic focus (maybe a little sparse here and there on the higher energy parts) and more of a low-mids presence in the bass, but otherwise this is really fun work here. We should collab sometime.

Not a fan of Pokemanz, but I do like this remix! The intro kinda reminds me of F Zero GX's style.
