Start your week off CORRECT with a bumpin' eighties EDM/dance jam arranging Mega Man 4/6/9 (Plug, Pharaoh, AND Jewel Man + MM6 End Credits!) from Amphibious & SuperiorX, straight outta the The Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet; Jordan writes:

"The WCRG 2013 was a really exciting time. I had a blast making all of my arrangements, but this last one was certainly the one I was most happy with. I had a lot of themes to incorporate, and collaboration was encouraged, so I reached out to my teammates to get some material from them. Sadly, Gario couldn't contribute any of his fantastic chip leads due to some time constraints, but I tried my best to makes some leads in his place! Jewel Man was his robot master and it was fun to work in. SuperiorX was able to contribute the pads and piano bits throughout, and what he did worked wonders for the overall sound of the mix. His robot master, Plug Man, was another great theme to add in. I'm very happy that my team members picked what they did - in the end, I feel I was able to work all of our themes together in a coherent way, with some of their melodies weaving together at times. I tried a lot of new things with mixing, lead layering and the like in this mix, and I'm very happy with the results. I've always had a thing for chill, downtempo mixes, but doing something upbeat and high energy like this was really fun and, hopefully, I can keep experimenting with new styles!"

Matt adds:

"This was the final mix for our team The Beat Masters in the WCRG 2013. Jordan asked me to contribute some pads and piano parts, and I was happy to oblige. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I wasn't able to do as much I wanted, but, luckily, Jordan provided a solid starting point that I just expanded on a little bit. I ended up contributing the piano bits and the LFO and airy pads that you hear in the intro, the bridge (2:00 section), and the outro. I also layered a subtle synth instrument on top of the piano melody at 2:00 for a little extra pizazz. I'm really happy with how this track turned out and hope to collaborate with Jordan some more in the future!"

VERY meaty beats & bass anchor this eighties-ish dance jam, while delicate piano & higher-octave synth leads flutter about over top. Production is slick, everything has an impact, and there are enough moving parts & development that the cool side stays cool, the hot side remains hot, and George Costanza is appeased. Flex writes:

"Oh man, this is tasty! I'm definitely hearing bits of everything in there, nice job combining all those sources. Dat snare is teh thickness, synths are on point, love all the noodly bits. Just a really nicely done package overall."

Larry adds:

"The groove was smoove, and the source tunes were bobbin' and weavin' throughout. Pretty cerebral stuff as far as examining the arrangement, but when it comes to the flow, it all melts like butter."

The WCRG has produced a lot of seamless theme-blending arrangements, and this mix provides another energetic & refined example of such. Great stuff from Amphibious with embellishing & improving touches from SuperiorX; judges were unanimous and only really needed to explore the source usage, which checked out in the end. Enjoy!

Interesting remix, but not a big fan here. The choice of synths is okay to me. It sounded quite repetitive to me, but was quite groovy. Some parts with the piano were a little better IMO. Didn't do it for me, but nice work nethertheless!

Now this has the right amount of eighties thumping beat that folks can groove to. All the sources fit together like a glove and sound fantastic. Another winning ReMix from the WCRG, I'd say.

So sick. I love the disco-ish nature of this mix :) The piano licks are especially awesome. Great job :nicework:
