More Seven Songs for Seventh Saga! Given the relative brevity of each piece, the album is very digestable in its 18 minute entirety in a single listen, which is nice, but each piece also stands alone as its own experience. Sebastian writes:
""Sky" is the heart of the album and was the track that made me do this album. I start off with my favorite interval: 1 octave + a minor third to support the melody. The second part of the piece is more of a personal take of the theme."

""Sky" hit me with a very somber feel. Maybe the sky is gray here. :-) The melodic lead is consistently worthy of focus, and the countermelodic and accent work. My personal highlight was the subtle yet incredible transition from the melody on solo cello of 2:01's section into the dual cellos from 2:14-2:28. As much as I love Sebastian's fusions of cello with chiptune (e.g. "Fallen Dragoon" & "Echoes of the Forest"), there's nothing quite like the musicianship and beauty of just the three cellos working together. Hopefully someone in games or film snaps Sebastian up for a project worthy of his talents. In that respect, Seven Songs for Seventh Saga is a hell of an audition. I'm proud that Seb chose OCR to be the home for this album, and have to stress again that this is a must-download. It's a short-and-sweet listen at 18 minutes flat, and a unique presentation of a very overlooked soundtrack."
Well said; "Sky" is the piece that started it all & which we have to thank for the album existing, so in that regard alone it's pretty awesome. It's also the album's longest track and has an epic, narrative feeling; very cinematic - I'd LOVE to see what animators/videographers could do with this. "Seven Short Films for Seven Songs for Seventh Saga"? Anyone? While each piece on Seven Songs is brief, and each is of course comprised of three cello parts and nothing else, it's astounding how much substance, grace, emotion, and musicality is channeled. Superb.

Once again, a very nice arrangement -- crazy how minimalist and yet powerful it sounds at the same time. The production on this album is perfect (love the videos BTW) -- the amount of reverb/effects is perfect, as it keeps a very natural atmosphere. I don't know if this is intentional or not, but the fact we can hear Sebastian breathing (especially at the beginning) while he plays fits perfectly the "Sky" theme. I hope to hear more remixes like this in the future.

Agreeing with the previous reviewers, the breathing sounds make this a more intimate and "alive" ReMix. You can almost feel like you are experiencing it like an up close concert by hearing him breath, which is cool. Excellent performance and arrangement.

Probably my favourite arrangement off the album, thanks to the aching melodies that dig deeper and deeper. I love the stretch where it stays at a single root note.
Good point about breathing, LuigiFan, I like the sounds too. It's good that the "noise" wasn't edited out.

Okay but seriously, I have not been able to stop listening to this entire album since I downloaded it yesterday. It is SO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL and a true work of art. Thank you, Sebastian, for sharing this with us, and to OCReMix for making it possible.
One thing I especially want to highlight is that I love the
performance aspect. Not just the videos with the music scrolling
along on the bottom, but just everything about it. In this piece
especially, you can hear Sebastian breathing as he plays. As a
brass player, I understand how important breath is to music, but
a lot of people don't realize how important breath is for a
string player also. To me, it's a sign of just how much you put
of yourself into this arrangement and into the performance of it,
and I think it's wonderful.
