Put on your blue spandex & prepare to get PHYSICAL as newcomer Just Coffee (Gian Descallar) debuts with an uber-80's new wave arrangement of Mega Man 8:
"And one... and two... and JUMP! JUMP! SLIDE! SLIDE!
This track was inspired by the cheesiness in 80s new wave pop, often associated in the late 90s as montage or workout tracks. Hence the name, which is a wordplay on "aerobics" and "robotics." As to why I thought robots would even need to do cardio, I have no idea. There's quite a bit of reverb going on because I wanted to get that "shiny(?)" aestheticism which I thought was key to the 80s. I might be wrong in that assumption, but it was pretty fun doing this genre, so I just went with it.
As this is my first submission to OCR, I hope I haven't broken any rules with the submission since I've already posted an early version of this track on SoundCloud and shared it on the Workshop's Game ReMixes forum. I've added minor tweaks to this version such as panning the rolls a bit and adjusting the reverb levels."
No rules broken, and in fact you've thoroughly embraced our mix naming requirements with the wordplay, so kudos :) The bouncing, elastic bassline is what seals the deal here, channeling John Carpenter soundtracks of yore with calisthenic enthusiasm. OA writes:
"Really nice execution on your ideas here, it gels together really well. The opening bass filter and build sets up the tone for the whole song, which has a lot of great synth handoffs of what is doing lead duty. The rhythm of the backing parts subdivision keeps the track interesting throughout, and overall it is all clicking for me. Good showing!"

Nice; plainly & unapologestically throwback, of course, but in a way that still brings interpretation & musicality to the table, to enjoy with your TV dinner & glass of Tang :) Peppy, poppy, & decidedly energetic debut from Just Coffee - definitely wanna hear more!

I thought these two sources would work together and started something but this was better than what I could have done with them. Good job.

Oh heck yeah, this came up on OCR Radio and I knew I loved it within the first 10 seconds. Can't get enough of the cheesy 80s movie vibe

Ha! I had expectations before hitting play and this both lived up to them and surprised at the same time. Lots of fun, quirky, and on-point 80's-era synth work. Nailed it Just Coffee!

YEEEEEESSSSSSSS! This version sounds different from the
Soundcloud version I've been accustom to listening to, but in a
good way...an 80's kind of way
. I remember when I first heard this in the Workshop I was
hooked on that hook and the man delivers on all fronts. I
feel Sythwave is the sort of musical revival this generation
needs, and people like Just Coffee are on the vanguard of
the New-New Wave of music, Mon Congrats on the
post Just Coffee's! Take note fellow remixers, when you
get up in the morning and you want to get that inspiration, all
