Epic epicosity! Our first ReMix of Mass Effect 3 comes in the form of short-but-sweet cinematic/symphonic cue from Kaiyoti (Paul Chen):
"Themes from Clint Mansell and Sam Hulick/Jack Wall from the Mass Effect series with various other original material. The track features a modified riff from Mass Effect 1 main theme (at 1:00) mixed with "Leaving Earth." 0:33 is original material that adopts the same/similar chords from "Leaving Earth" and "An End, Once and for All." The final theme is heard 1:13 to 1:44. The riff from the beginning returns to end off the track with a beat.
My ambition for this piece was to try to model a nice sounding orchestra. My previous works have always included at least 10 analog synthesizers but I held back the urge and only included one. Hope you enjoy it."
Judges were unanimous; Sir_NutS' comments in particular stood out to me:
"I'm very familiar with the sources (I even remixed one of these) and they are well represented here. This is really cool, epic in all sense, but also short and to the point. Instrument quality is very good, with believable performances and good care of dynamics and flow. The use of percussion is on point. The low end is rumbling a little, but I don't think it's a huge issue.
The arrangement is great, incorporating all 3 sources in a natural way. The usage of leaving earth as a support for the other melodies was pretty smart, and the original content fits in very well. I specially liked the buildup to 1:47 where you can hear hints of the main theme in the background while "An end" takes the main stage. Epic track, very fitting for the source material."
Nice Inception-style low brass hits right in that intro; if this is what Paul can do in just under two minutes, imagine if he had five :) I certainly hope to hear more in the future, as this mix proves that much can be said - expressively, powerfully, and with conviction - in less than 120 seconds. Impressive debut and a stirring, if brief, homage to the Mass Effect games' wonderful scores!

Super short but nice. The intro melody is eerily similar to the one found in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze's intro.

Maybe some of the orchestra could have been a tad more upfront to brighten things up in the upper-treble, and the bass was a little muddy, but other than that, I think this was fairly well mixed. Short, but cool arrangement!

I feel like it had a little too much reverb, but otherwise this was excellent
