Put your combs away and trade in that bomber jacket for a tux, as newcomer Ganaé (Matthieu Loubiere) classes up Guile's theme with a creative symphonic arrangement that also works in some Ryu:
"Made with Logic, Komplete 10, EastWest Quantum choir/orchestra, sforzando, Ivy Audio, Albion Redux, Heavocity.
This is an orchestrated version of Guile's theme from Street Fighter II (SNES). I hope that you'll like it. I tried to made this epic and big with a massive virtual orchestra. In the second part of the track, you'll recognize Ryu's theme.
I'm not really good in English, but I'll try to explain my inspiration process. I'd just bought new orchestral samples few months ago and I seek an epic track to test it. I listened Street Fighter OST and I found that Ryu and Guile's themes were very close. I tried to mix them and I find a way to make it epic. The name "Spitfire" is from the editor of the orchestral sample I used. Enjoy it."
Well firstly I suppose I should mention that I'm a huge fan of Spitfire Audio and own many of their libraries.... Mural & Sable strings are especially awesome. Ditto Heavyocity. Matthieu has good taste! This arrangement is on the quieter side so you may wanna pump up the volume; good use of foreshadowing by letting pieces of the (very familiar) melodies peek through in advance of the full onset. While the sounds themselves are good, there are some instances where dynamics/articulations could use a little polish & don't necessarily show the libraries in their best light, but it takes a while to really learn the ins & outs of each instrument... even when they're digital. Liontamer writes:
"The Guile theme was creatively adapted here, and the Ryu theme cameo from 2:33-2:52 interwoven with Guile's theme before taking over as the focus until 3:19 was well-written. There were times late in the track where I felt the percussion style dragged on a bit and this could have used more breaks from that, but it's a small nitpick and nothing that negatively impacted the judgement. Matthieu did a solid job varying up the textures and intensity, even within a relatively flat dynamic curve. The choir part in particular added some good depth to the soundscape. Good work all around, Matthieu, and nice job comfortably adapting and combining both themes in the orchestral setting."
Ditto that; I do agree with the other judges' comments about dynamics, articulations, & variation, and I also think this could have used a once-over from a mastering perspective to make things pop, but the arrangement does an excellent job of really deconstructing pieces of the source and putting them back together into something recognizable but also recognizably altered into a symphonic/cinematic presentation. Strong debut from Ganaé - hope the judge feedback helps you out, and definitely hope to hear more!

Really does sound like something you'd hear at the end of a solo Guile movie. The orchestra sounds great and the overall flow works for me to give it that heroic vibe.

The entrance of the main melody at 1:26 gave me chills; perfect overall tone for the mix and your sounds. I agree with Timaeus; the quieter parts are the only sections that would improve with volume adjustments. Interesting take on the theme, really switches up the feel but sounds natural. Good writing and a good mix.

Thank you very much for all your feedback. I'm very proud and honored to have my track on OCR collection.

I must admit, it's certainly one of the smoothest and most well-mixed remixes. Sometimes it's hard to discern whether it's one coherent track or 2 mixed. I really love it, well done!!

I didn't mind the overall loudness, actually. The main thing I'd say is that the quieter timestamps could have been a bit louder, but not the overall track. Some of the attacks (brass in particular) were a bit slow for the sequencing, so perhaps layering in some short layers (like staccato or spiccato) could have helped make up for it. Other than that, this is a pretty enjoyable, elegant and film-credits-like remix.
