Well, it's zircon (Andrew Aversa), it's Lufia II, and for many if not most of you, that should easily be enough :) Andy hits us with an aggressive EDM/metal hybrid:
"A hot-blooded, uptempo synth rock/metal remix by zircon arranging the Sinistral Battle ("Battle 3") theme from the classic SNES game Lufia 2, one of my favorite JRPGs of all time! This song was created with FL Studio and extensively uses Shreddage II with Shreddage Classic.
This remix was loooots of fun to make! High-energy synth metal inspired by S.S.H and maybe even a little bit of WillRock too. I've always loved this theme since the moment I first heard it as a kid playing through Lufia 2. This is the most bombastic, awesome, and fun way I could think of paying it tribute. It was also great practice in sequencing and performing with my very own Shreddage 2 virtual instrument. Enjoy!"
Speaking of Shreddage, there's actually a "Gods of Valhalla" songwriting competition going on over at Impact Soundworks RIGHT NOW, with a July 28th cutoff... bound to be some excellent entries! This mix makes excellent use of ISW's signature guitar library & brings the heat with tight, brisk, compressed beats, searing guitars (like the title says!), and synths that soar over & around the underlying mayhem... it's all about power, speed, and ooomph, more or less. Or, in Chimpazilla's words:
"Yeah, it's a little bit good. ;-)"
Liontamer elaborates a bit more with his own thoughts:
"We haven't had any Lufia repped since Nekofrog rocked it in 2010, so it's more than time for the next great Lufia series mix to arrive! When I hear Lufia II's "Battle #3," I wonder how it would sound with a Mega Man X soundset, as the composition really has a similar energy. Similar to "Picolescene" (including a reminiscent introduction here), Andy leans on lush pads to fill things out nicely during the quieter sections. Nice work bolstering the source with an additional level of textural complexity via the breakbeats to drive the piece forward; it all fits the theme of "Agression" well. The Shreddage geetars are sounding pretty sweet, including an intense section from 3:01-3:24 where they're the focus. The stylistic similarities to S.S.H and WillRock are awesome, with a strong combination of synth work and guitar, paired with a careful attention to dynamics that's all zircon. :-)"
Not much to add; beyond being a pretty darn persuasive advertisement for Shreddage, this ups the energy ante and infuses significant amounts of additional mojo into the source tune - check it out!

Great song, and great mix. Now if only we can get a Lufia II battle #2 mix of the same caliber ;).

I can recognize a song by Zircon within the first few seconds
he's both amazing, and immediately recognizable.

One of my favorite remixers, and probably my favorite VGM song of all time. I found this on zircon's YouTube and have been hoping for it to show up on OCR for ages. Awesome stuff.

I remember hearing this on @zircon's soundcloud, and I was wondering when it would hit the front page! I think this is the level of ultra-compressed aggression that probably only zircon could be daring enough to do, and do well, because despite those blasting drums, a lush, fitting breakdown was still managed. The soundscape is super dense, but not overly cluttered, and Shreddage is certainly well-showcased here. Sweet solos as well!
