ReMix:The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "Child of Legend" 2:38

This delicate harp, bell, & piano lullabye Zelda arrangement from LindsayAnne Pepper, off of Esther's Dreams, is short but oh-so-sweet, inviting listeners into an intimate, magical space:

"My kids love the music from the Legend of Zelda (no doubt because I've played the 25th Anniversary CD one too many times around them...). I wrote this little piece for them. I was super proud of them when they instantly recognized it as "Zelda Music." :) It's a very soft, gentle rendition of "Zelda's Lullaby," the main original theme, and a hint of the Temple of Time theme hidden in the end. :)

Since this piece is really Zelda and Link's themes intertwined, it's almost like a lullaby for their child (if they were to ever end up together).

The inspiration for "Child of Legend" came from my son, Elliot. As a stay-at-home mom, my two children obviously spend a lot of time with me. They have grown up listening to the melodies of Legend of Zelda, and request the 25th Anniversary CD in the car (played as loudly as I'll allow it!). One day, my Elliot asked me if I could write a Zelda lullaby so he could listen to it at bedtime. I thought it was such a great idea, and got to work on it right away. Since "Zelda's Lullaby" is already such a beautiful stand-alone piece as a lullaby, I wished to include the theme that my kids were most familiar with -- the original main theme (we call it "Link's Theme"). Intertwining these two themes proved to be a delicate expansion on the original "Zelda's Lullaby," and sneaking in the "Song of Time" at the end was a representation of how these two characters are forever connected throughout the series. Luckily for me, both my children gave it their seal of approval. :)

I share this piece with you, Esther, on the celebration of your first birthday. I hope you will enjoy it as much as my children have. May your ears always be blessed with the sweet and magical sounds of music.

I hope that you take time each day to marvel at the little things that make Esther so unique and perfect, for she will change so quickly in these next few years. Excellent advice from a fellow parent :) Esther just recently turned three, and it's truly amazing how time flies. While on the brief side, this simple, minimalist approach to arranging these sources works quite well, creating a peaceful & serene soundscape. Larry writes:

"It's an honor to have LindsayAnne posted on OCR once again (and happy birthday! :-D). Her first OC ReMix was posted shortly before I became a judge in 2004, so I remember her debut well. With the passage of time, her work has only improved, and I knew it would be worth looping her into the invitation for Esther's Dreams. As she mentioned, this track was actually created before the album's development, but fit so comfortably into the album's overall aesthetic; as soon as I listened to it, I knew we had the album's final track.
