DusK (Dustin Branscum) hits us up with another fun Guild Wars 2 ReMix, delivering some agreeably chunky & aggressive rock/metal and marking his third GW2 tribute to grace our halls:
"This is a remix that I created to surprise ArenaNet with when I go down to Seattle next week - which probably means that, by the time this is posted, I'll have just celebrated the first anniversary of that trip. :D
I decided to just straight up heavy the hell out of this source. Not a whole lot more to it than that; a lot of this track is simply me taking liberties with the structure and having fun setting the chord progressions and melodies to metal.
Here's hoping you guys dig it!"
Larry notes that the source is a Maclaine Diemer piece & that the mix title refers to enemies in the GW2: Heart of Thorns expansion, where the source is from. The More You Know!! Title sounds like a Led Zeppelin cut, to me, which can only be a good thing :) Dustin delivers on his promise to "heavy the hell" outta things; pared-down metal is the name of the game, with minimal additional fuss or window dressing. While at times this meat-and-potatoes approach may make the soundscape a bit sparse, judges generally felt that it delivered the goods in terms of raw energy & power. Gario writes:
"Solid metal, brah. Overall, it's well produced, the guitar timbres are appropriate for the style, and the performances are pretty solid. It's a great direction to take that source, and it works great."
DragonAvenger adds:
"The arrangement is really solid and there is a great mood overall in this track ...really enjoyed this, and I think others will too."
All judges did have consistent critiques, from a suggestion to expand the instrumentation to notes on panning, that I think Dustin could benefit from considering for future mixes, but they also felt this deserved the spotlight, would be enjoyed, & that it packs a well-crafted punch. Agreed! Good stuff from DusK, who has paid mighty & repeated homage to the Guild Wars 2 OST!

Very strong metal ReMix you have here. Clean production, sick arrangement and enough heaviness to make any rock fan smile. I think the energy and delivery really makes this one for me. Not bad at all, man.
