Newcomer Reuben6 (Reuben Spiers) hits us with a chill acoustic folk jam take on "Gerudo":
"This is my acoustic cover of "Gerudo Valley" from the 1998 video game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the soundtrack of which was composed by Koji Kondo."
Strong offbeat on wide, double-tracked acoustic guitar lends this a subtle jazz flavor and I suppose a bit of a "party" vibe, but mostly mellow & laid-back, with a smidgin' o' swing to it. Bass & accordion flesh out the accompaniment, with another acoustic guitar taking on lead melody, making for a nice ensemble that still feels intimate & spontaneous. Liontamer writes:
"Fun arrangement, and the live aspect of the performances and rhythmic changes created enough personalization in the arrangement to have no problem getting by. Fun stuff, Reuben! Send some more, and welcome!"
Nutritious adds:
"As soon as I heard the accordion at the beginning, I knew I was going to like this. Guitars have a good sound - the double-tracked panning gives the rhythm a a really wide, encompassing sound. I agree that there could be some additional variation on the backing guitar, however. No doubt at any point what this is arranging. Connections are clear, but I felt it was personalized just fine with the performances, a bit of rubato and timing changes, etc."
Well said; relatively conservative arrangement that leans on measured, comfortable performances and a laid-back atmosphere/timing to lend a Kondo classic a new vibe. I could have seen this going in a more explicitly Django direction, but I dig that it's restrained and simple, yet not simplistic. Good stuff from Reuben, hope to hear more!

Very true to the original, but I liked how personalized the rhythm guitar was. I think the performance is what sold it.
