Arranging the music of one song...
"Lanayru Sand Sea"

Newcomer heymagurany (Matt Magurany) gives us a short classic/vintage rock take on Skyward Sword that's got some grit to it:
"Skyward Sword has a great soundtrack and, with so many good songs to choose from, this one might seem weird. The Lanayru Desert area of the game really stuck out to me and the music was a big part of that, particularly how the music changes when Link is in a Timeshift zone. Anyway, this track really reminds me of how much I loved the game and it occurred to me one day that I could arrange it similar to one of my favorite Into It. Over It. songs, "Augusta, GA," and together might yield something cool. Well, this rock remix is what came out of it. The song is named after the Robot Captain, LD-301N Skipper, who is the supreme model of the mass-produced robots and the source music is from the area of Lanayru where Skipper is found. Enjoy!"
Very cool arrangement, but I'm *also* a sucker for the genre; this sounds like something you might hear playing in the background of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and that can only be a good thing in my book. In 2'37" this manages to build atmosphere, vary intensity, and feel like a satisfying exploration of the concept, so kudos are in order for effective brevity. Larry writes:
"Great job on this, Matt! You really nailed the rhythmic style of Into It. Over It. here, and it fit this theme like a glove. There was no shortage of writing built around the theme, and there's a wild yet low-key energy here that gets more expressive with the soloing at 1:19 followed by the doubling of the melody at 1:53. I love hearing well-executed concepts like this, it's going to make a great addition to OCR. Welcome aboard, and please keep the submissions coming! :-)"
Ditto that; while short, the ideas here are solid and the execution gives them wings. We don't hear a ton of Skyward Sword OR vintage rock, so it's a win/win in the relative novelty department either way, but I'm thinking most folks will dig this regardless - great energy, specific vibe, and uses its modest duration to set a scene and spin a tale pretty durn well. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the retro rock feel of this remix. I feel like I need to blast this remix in an old ford pickup truck while I drive down a creek trail. Definitely a bop, great work on this!

Not too shabby...I always thought SS was one of the weaker Zelda OSTs but I still like this mix enough
