Superb progressive trance take on Link to the Past's end credits theme from bLiNd (Jordan Aguirre), off of Mirror Image: A Link to the Past ReMixed - as a side note, there's still time left to pick up a TON of Jordan's music for $10 on Groupees - he writes:
"For those who missed the Mirror Image album release, or didn't listen to the end, this is my take on the Zelda - Link to the Past "Ending Credits" music which includes the main theme of the Zelda series. First time I ever remixed the Zelda theme. The main theme is something I have wanted to touch on for ages because I was never happy with any EDM takes on it (at least that I know of). Zedd's take was too popular, in my opinion, and didn't do much to change the original. I ended up changing the entire chord progression to fit a progressive trance vibe and it works really well. I may even do it again for a new remix later because I enjoyed it so much and feel that I could expand it further with other genres.
I kept the production fairly simple as many of the synths are variations of saws and supersaws, but the minimal approach works well with very melodic material in the electronic realm. It took a lot of tweaking, but I think the majority will enjoy the results. Thanks for listening!"
Larry Oji lays it down:
"I'm sure some folks' first reaction to bLiNd's comments will be "ZOMG shade thrown at Zedd!," but I took them as Jordan wanting to hear something more progressive and turning to himself to fill a musical niche that hasn't been quite filled. (Zedd's version is interpretive enough in its own right to pass as an OC ReMix, so we should nag Vig to have him submit it one day. :-D) bLiNd's version here has a lot of drive to it, so I know he's filling this niche now, for sure. Man, once the main Zelda theme kicks in at 1:49, the really subtle bassline that's first introduced (which is a little more audible at 2:17) is some incredibly smart stuff that fits under the Zelda theme like a glove."
I dig not only the energy but the more transformative bass & progression tweaks Jordan's employed for a theme most of us know forwards and backwards. Even if you've heard a theme interpreted a hundred times from others, you're still gonna wanna hear what bLiNd cooks up with it, and this doesn't disappoint for a second, fitting right in on an album of ridiculously strong & hard-hitting Zelda EDM. Excellent!

I really like the underlying bass and overall beat of this ReMix. Creative enough to have it's own feel, but still very much the solid Zelda melody and not too overtaken by the EDM arrangement. Fantastic.

A very nice BOP of a remix. This remix gets the official "I was tapping my feet along with the beat" certification. Two thumbs up! Great stuff!

This is definitely better than Zedd's version! BTW, there really is no such thing as a VGM cover that's too popular. I love seeing popular artists do VGM covers. Anything to bring more attention to one of my fave types of music is fine in my book
