DDRKirby(ISQ) [Timmie Wong] outdoes himself with a truly epic 9-bit jamsplosion, taking "Air Man" from Mega Man 2 to new heights:
"This one comes at the behest of Patreon supporter Norfair, who requested a remix of the Air Man stage theme from Mega Man 2. Imagine you're about to see Air Man's 9-bit rock concert live. It's gonna be EPIC. I'll just let the track speak for itself here. P.S. May or may not contain a special cameo by Proto Man!"
There are bits of this where it's more "standard" DDRKirby(ISQ) fare - meaning awesome, high-energy, chip-infused jams - but the extended synth soloing really takes off into the stratosphere. It's a leaf on the wind; watch how it soars. Gario approved direct postage:
"What can I say, its production values are pristine, and it definitely expands the material using your signature 9-bit style. Lots of chip-wankery goin' down, with some cool layering of the Air Man theme being done later into the track (like at 3:04). Norfair's a lucky person, with a kickass arrangement like this being made for them. Love it, great work!"
"Chip-wankery" doesn't quite do it justice; Timmie's elevated the phrase to an art form, in this case, making for possibly his best solo to date and one that I'll keep coming back to & citing as a textbook, iconic example. The 9-bitness (expansion beyond straight chip elements) oscillates throughout the track, with exposed portions that slide into raw, 8-bit textures and, on the other end of the spectrum, some wide, layered, & powerful hybrid sections that escalate the intensity.
Absolutely not to be missed; badass.

This was an incredibly good rendition of Air-man's theme. I really enjoyed the bright and shiny lead, and the solo work was very inspired and fun. Excellent production and a fantastic vibe of a remix. great job on this!

Incredibly lucky indeed, when I’ve been through low times DDRKirby(ISQ) has been the only entity in this universe who’s music could lift me up again. Yes that may sound incredibly strange, but it’s the truth. So glad y’all enjoyed his latest hit!

I often close songs in the middle of super note-y solos, but every the "wankery" here was so stylish and well-placed. Fantastic job.
Even better are the last 90 seconds. Absolutely sublime work.
