AJ DiSpirito takes Breath of the Wild to the racing circuit and applies an upbeat Mario Kart EDM/pop aesthetic to the "Hateno Village" theme:
"A fun, poppy little remix of the day version of "Hateno Village."
The guitar, piano, and keyboard parts were all performed by me. Everything else was performed on a keyboard as well."
Gario writes:
"There's really not much I can add to this - it's such a radically different approach to the track it's hard to tell that it's the same source. It's not that the source isn't represented, but rather that the direction goes from a tranquil village to a crazy in-your-face race track from a zany video game.
Fadeout aside (which I personally think works well enough because of how it's presented, Larry be damned!) I can't think of too much to say against this, other than it leaves me wanting more. Great work! "
I guess I'm with Larry in that I had mixed feelings on the fade, as implemented, but hearing this source transformed so successfully & with so much ENERGY was fun, and the notion of applying one game's musical style to another can certainly yield some cool results. Of course, that's what Nintendo themselves are often doing in the Mario Kart & Smash series, but AJ's take is both his own AND would fit right in alongside many of those arrangements. Great stuff!

This is definitely a racing vibe remix. The call and response in this remix was expertly done. Very well produced, high energy and a lot of fun. What more could you ask for?

YES! I would be proud to have this playing during my victory lap in the next Mario Kart. This has well earned its spot on my faves playlist!

We're pretty much going to need this song to appear in the next Mario Kart. I love the idea of this mix, and the execution is wonderful. I'l never visit Hateno without thinking of this tune again.
