Next up on our Dreamcast NA 20-year anniversary triple-punch is Garpocalypse (Ryan Davis) with our FIRST featured ReMix of Plasma Sword, aka Star Gladiator 2, offering up a high-energy epic metal take on "Fade to Silence":
"Latest and greatest, folks. Enjoy."
Indeed! I vaguely remember playing Star Gladiator & its sequel, but at the time I was underwhelmed and went back to whatever the current flavor of Street Fighter was; 3D fighters took some time to evolve competitively playable & comparably tight mechanics, imo. The graphics & sound were great for the time, however, and Ryan's done this theme up to the nines, with an anthemic, soaring rock/metal treatment; judges were split due to perception of slightly muffled/muddy production, but prophetik music conveys the presiding sentiment of approval:
"this is a great original track that adapted really well to the style chosen here. i enjoy the background work and the implementation of the drums and synths. if i'm going to complain about anything, it's that it sounds a bit muffled, and the lead guitar doesn't speak as much in the forefront as i'd like. none of that is nearly important enough to affect the outcome of this vote. the arrangement is fine and the performance is excellent. this is an easy stamp for me."
Making the leads & drums a bit crisper/cleaner might have given things a bit more impact, but this still packs quite a bit of mojo and captures the vibe of a high-stakes, epic battle. Enjoy!

This definitely rocks! I enjoyed the little interlude/transition at around 2:02. I enjoyed the little intro also. Great job on this!

I know it's a little late, but every now and then I'll go through and try to catch up. I've never even heard of this game, so I almost skipped over this remix. Glad I didn't; it rocks!

What is with this track? I don't know but the judges were way off with this one. It's like someone turned on a noise generator and tried to pass it off as a ReMix.
