Arranging the music of one song...
"Overworld 5"

Next up, also from Rebecca E. Tripp, is our first featured ReMix of Golvellius, ported from the MSX to the SMS - a moving, spirited-but-sparse arrangement blending orchestral & folk textures:
"This was created as a gift for Matthew Riccardi, one my top Kickstarter patrons this summer. It's a cover of "Overworld 5" from the game, Golvellius: Valley of Doom for the Sega Master System. The original song was composed by Masatomo Miyamoto. Although I haven't played this game personally, I ended up falling in love with this theme after Matthew requested it! I decided to reimagine it in this style, which I consider to be somewhere between various folk and symphonic genres in terms of instrumentation. I actually think the end result sounds a lot like the ending/epilogue themes from the SNES Final Fantasy games. It's almost like an Uematsu-style take a Miyamoto theme. I hope everyone (but especially Matthew) will enjoy hearing this arrangement as much as I enjoyed composing it!"
Lively part-writing, good forward momentum, a bit of suspense, and a great mix of plucked/strummed strings & woodwinds breathe life into the piece. Larry keeps it simple:
"Nice re-instrumentation, beautiful, varied textures, and good expansion of the part-writing behind the melody. Lovely work per your usual, Rebecca!"
Sir_NutS is spot-on:
"Simple but beautiful. The original is well represented here and expanded properly. While the original song had an adventurous vibe to it, this remix is more on the exotic/sublime side due to the instruments and adaptation. I think it's very impressive that you managed to pull this off with a minimal set of instruments yet everything sounds pretty well detailed and humanized."
Ditto all that; this provides a great tweak to the mood/tone of the original, while still keeping its structures very much in the foreground. Equal parts mysterious, subdued, suspenseful, & transporting - wonderful work!

This was a nice pleasant ride of a remix. It was a nice break and I enjoyed listening to it, kudos!
