Ahoy, me hearties! It being the most auspicious international day of talking like a matey, we's figured it would be fittin' to convey upon ye landlubbers not one but TWO theme-appropriate arrrrrrrangements of the video game music, startin' with this delightful chantey from Yffisch (Kristofer Yffén):
"Monkey Island 2, LeChuck's Revenge, Main Theme ("Campfire Intro"/"Bart and Fink") accordion cover. Played on Chinese xiao flute, silver flute, button accordion, clarinet, and a pepper mill.
I remember being at a LAN party many, many years ago where I finally got Monkey Island 2 to work on my computer with sound, since I had sound issues for a long time. The intro started and I got goosebumps since I had not played the game with sound before. When the campfire tune started playing, I got tears in my eyes and I just sat there for an hour with headphones listening to that song over and over while the other people at the LAN party played Counter-Strike, which I was not very fond of. And I felt so much better than the other people since I played something "special" and they did not know how good I felt there in my corner. That's a very special memory for me and this tune is dedicated to that memory, and I'm so happy I finally made a quality cover of that tune."
Of course, tis not be hatin' on the CS scallywags, or any old seadogs who be playin' a more common game, but tis a fine & proper thing when one can settle down with something a wee bit special. Kristofer be a right fine bucco what's sailed these waters before, with past tunes from the isle of monkeys, and here he be keepin' on the tradition. Old Salt Oji tells a tale:
"Today is International Talk Like a Priate Day, so it's the perfect time for some pirate fare on OCR! There's no better person to represent that than Monkey Island arrangement champion Yffisch and his fleshed-out take on MI2's main theme. I love Kristofer's story here, because it shows the capability of early VGM to captivate the imagination, yet here we are years later with a version that expands upon that outdoor relaxation feeling and bring it to life with live instruments. You can't go wrong with Yffisch, and his work would have fit like a glove in the Monkey Island Special Editions! Yarrrrr! :-)"
Shipshape. Splice the mainbrace & gather ye close for a rousin' round of grog and memories, supplied by true carouser & first-rate bard Yffisch!

This was great! I feel like it is a remix desperately begging for some lyrics to go along with it. The whistling, humming/singing was great and really gave this remix a cozy and fun feel. Definitely unique and definitely cool. ?
