Juke (Luke Williams) debuted back in December of 2018 with a lovely Skies of Arcadia ReMix, and it's great to see this follow-up, taking us on a peaceful, idyllic, chamber/folk trek through "Tarrey Town," with many notable Zelda location themes woven in:
"What would the Tarrey Town music sound like if it had village themes from other Zelda games added in?
Tarrey Town had some of my favorite music in Breath of the Wild; I loved how it mixed in themes from other places in the game as you built it up. I tried to remake the start variant and full variant in the beginning, keeping close to the original, and then expand on it with themes from other places in the Zelda series as well. So imagine Tarrey Town in the Zelda Universe now, I guess. Extra themes in order of appearance:
- OoT "Kokiri Forest"
- OoT "Lon Lon Ranch"
- OoT "Castle Market"
- OoT "Kakariko Village"
- OoT "Gerudo" (the plucked instrument)
- OoT "Goron City"
- WW "Dragon Roost"
- WW "Outset Island"
- MM "Astral Observatory"
- MM "Clock Town"
- SS "Skyloft"
- "Zelda Theme"
These were just some of my favorite places in the Zelda series and I thought that I could mix them in well enough. I think that Dragon Roost Island theme could've made it in the original, since they already have the Rito Village. Astral Observatory has one of my favorite tunes; I had trouble at first figuring out where it might fit, but had an "Aha!" moment with the light plucked instrument. :)
I hope they take this idea (town you can build/multiple themes in one) further in future games. Hopefully, we can one day see a Zelda game that is big enough to fit all these towns in it.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Background ambience used is from The Guild of Ambience."
The ambience ends up working quite well, making the combination of piano, strings, chromatic percussion, & woodwinds all the more cohesive & rustic. There's even a trombone in here, and generally the blend of diverse, humanized, emotive instrumentation is the highlight - that, plus the way Luke weaves the different themes together. It all feels light, comforting, & casual, which seems like the right tone to strike. Gario writes:
"I believe I am in fact the person who suggested you submit this track, because I found the arrangement to be a really cohesive, peaceful experience. The Tarrey Town theme makes for a great backbone, with all of the other sources being supported by it. The humanization is also on point, with an atmosphere that is calming.
I loved it on the boards, and I fell in love with it again on here. It'll fit nicely on OCR's front page. Great work!"
Props to Greg for encouraging the submission; this is indeed a relaxing & comforting stroll down Zelda memory lane, made additionally transporting through a prominent ambience, with rich, organic individual components. Great stuff from Juke - very glad to see a follow-up from his album mix, and one I enjoyed just as much!

Right off the bat this remix is steeped in whimsy. Also wow that is a LOT of sources to contend with, it takes some big brain to mesh them altogether cohesively. (Which I am assuming you did, I've never played BoTW. It sounds cohesive to me!) Great job on this, it was nice and chill. Kudos!

The Juke touch never fails. An excellent musical tapestry: gentle, soothing, and sublime. A seamless blend of shades of welcoming tunes, very good work.

I love when the Outset Island melody comes into the mix, it blends very well with the Taerry Town melody.
