We've got not one but TWO Zelda mixes from RebeccaETripp for you today, starting with this low-key cinematic/orchestral arrangement of Skyward Sword that features Greg Orosz (happy birthday!) on live flute & incorporates a lot of chromatic percussion:
"This is one of three "gift songs" I've created! I hope they find you well! This piece was made with my deepest love. I hope it will fill you with delight and courage.
This is my arrangement of the tracks "Sealed Grounds" and "Sheikah Tower" from Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, respectively. The flute part was performed live by my friend, Greg Orosz, aka Gamer of the Winds.
I felt that these two themes were thematically, musically, and aesthetically connected, so I made this piece to demonstrate. At first, it is meant to be slightly more "earthy," but after a while, it gets more "airy" as we are lifted up into the clouds, atop the tower(s). I actually have a couple more SS and BotW mini-medleys planned."
I can only imagine that whoever this gift was intended for was grateful, but I feel like we all benefit equally :) Vague American Beauty vibes due to the prominent mallets, and I love all the different textures - in particular a very deep, blown flute of some ilk that sounds like someone blowing across the top of a giant watercooler jug. Tempo/pacing are deliberate, so this channels the titular scenario of exploring - cautiously - a maze/ruins/etc. Chimpazilla writes:
"...I really like the instrumentation used in this conservative mix. I particularly like the low breathy instrument paired with the mallets, flute and harpsichord, the contrast is just lovely. I find plenty of variation from the source including lots of Rebecca's signature flourishes. I think the two themes transition well. The track is simple yet effective, a relaxing and fun listen."
There's enough lingering suspense that I wouldn't necessarily characterize it as relaxing per se, but it's definitely subtle & agreeable & easy to enjoy, especially with the different recurring textures. Emunator adds:
"For the most part, I felt like this arrangement played well to Rebecca's strengths as an arranger - as Kris mentioned, the interplay between the shorter staccato instruments like the marimba and harpsichord and the more expressive flute legatos, courtesy of Gamer of the Winds, sounds really fabulous. Overall, this is a really breathy, spacious arrangement that expands nicely on the sources."
Well said; not neccesarily the most elaborate or flamboyant of Rebecca's work, but sets a mood & explores its catacombs with clever, layered, & emotive arrangement. Enjoy!

Can't go wrong by starting things off with a harpsichord note! This was a nice and mellow remix that somehow felt very...classy? Great job on this! :)
