Arranging the music of one song...
"Main Theme"

ilp0 (Ilari Nieminen) is making the kinda music I'd love to make if I played guitar, as he delivers a psychedelic, fuzz-covered, 70s-tastic mellow experimental prog rock lounge meditation on the (in)famous Bubble Bobble theme:
"I spent a lot of time last summer playing Bubble Bobble with a Nintendo Classic Mini NES. The 2-player mode is still just amazing. This kind of chilled version of the main theme has been playing in my head ever since and I wanted to get it out of there by recording this track."
So yeah, I hit you with a bunch of word salad up there, but it really IS somewhere between lounge & psychedelic rock, and there's *plenty* of fuzz to go around; don't be shy. Lovely and relatively polite acoustic guitar provides an almost wintry/holiday take on the melody before the shrooms start kicking in at 0'38" and some warbly, fizzy, feedback lead guit starts drilling into your cranium, in the best of ways. Like McDonald's from days of yore, I'm lovin' it. Hard-panned (but lovely, almost Mellotronic) strings accompany all the fretwork, and the key modulation at 1'59" is just nasty & all up in your business & stankface. I smiled. Back in the olden, earliest years of OCR, we saw a ton of mixes of this particular theme, but it did eventually trickle off after a bit. There's always something else to say, though, and when ilp0's the one saying it, you're essentially guaranteed it's going to be a singular & fresh take. This manages to completey transmogrify the sugary vibe into something simultaneously more chill but ALSO zanier, with the fuzz/dsp taken to gorgeous extremes & the arrangement playing into the resulting near-chaos. Wonderful, playful, & memorable/new take on an old classic. Highly recommended; eat your bubbles!

I didn't realize this was a bubble bobble remix until about a minute in, so very good job on the interpretation of the theme! This was a pleasant ride. Great stuff! ?
