Arranging the music of one song...
"Hard Man Stage"

And just like that, it's December already. We start the month with a sophomore mix from faRk (Hallvard A. Ulsund), who dazzles with a chip/tracker-style take on Mega Man 3's "Hard Man":
"I remixed my favorite track from the Mega Man series. Made on an M8 Tracker."
Cool bit of kit! This is definitely chip-forward, and I love how many staple arrangement & production tricks Hallvard throws in, with some very active, agile leads that spiral around, and a great sense of motion/excitement in general. Liontamer evaluated:
"I dug faRk's style back with his debut Zool arrangement, and this is no different here. I love the chiptune style music influenced by European gaming computers, as well as getting to hear it applied to a Japanese game score. Lots of clean mixing combined with ear candy that legitimately had me shuffling and grooving in my chair with a smile on my face, and the original quasi-comping areas fit like a glove while providing interesting breaks from the Hard Man theme. So awesome, Hallvard, please keep the hits coming! :-)"
It's a disservice to the mix to just describe it as a more elaborate chip take on "Hard Man" with some modern production sheen, because where the artist really excels is infusing extra-infectious groove into the arrangement; this is catchy stuff and if you're like me & Larry, you'll have a hard time not nodding along. Funky, fun, clean lines, & a ton of delicious, nutritious chips make this a fantastic MM3 jam - enjoy!

This made me smile, it was FUN as FRICK. I loved all the different chiptuney timbres there were, it was fun to explore around and listen to the different sounds individually. Also, I see that bass.

This song gets me hard.
And I am definitely talking about my penis.
Now I need to actually listen to it to see and hear if I'm right to be as solid as the world tree Yggdrasil and as blooming with seeds as its mighty branches at the supernal dawn of the universe. Harding? More like HARDEST!
