This is one of the OCR albums that's grown on me over the years - the original Final Fantasy's music doesn't give me the same nostalgia as the SNES/PSX era ones so I overlooked it for a while. I like how many tracks just freakin' rock, I like the goofy Lonely Island-esque Onward, I like that some of the themes are mixed in to different tracks so there are a few different interpretations of the same melody. It's neat. I hope the creators remain proud.

This album is veryaddictive; can't go long without it. My fave is Roaming; the guitar, synth, and overall atmosphere is awesome. I also really enjoyed Fierce Fairground Fight, The Last Song, and the electronic songs. A few less memorable tracks, but overall a great album. Thanks guys!

This album is a delight to listen to as rock/metal is my favorite music genre.
Top favorite track: Omerta without a doubt is an amazing song. It gives off a feel of it taking place in some tribal ceremony/campfire ballad and the transition to the guitar is simply eargasmic-ish.
Sentient Machines is another favorite as Floating Castle is my top favorite track in Final Fantasy and mithus did an amazing job in keeping the hauntingly beautiful feel while still keeping the theme of the album.
Is it just me or does Sir Jordanius's Epic Win song kind of reminds me something from Katamari Damacy?
The overall album is outstanding. Amazing job guys!

That was a good review. Yes, I did read the whole thing. As a Christian, I kinda liked the religious view on it, but I disagree about any sentiment that metal is inherently "evil".
Thanks for reading it! I appreciate all the work everyone put into the album, and I figured I may as well say something about it.
I didn't mean to give the impression that "metal" is inherently evil! I'm just trying to pointing out that it isn't. The gaming community is pretty accepting of the intention rather than the form, but I can tell you from personal experience that some need a little...nudging, to get them to understand that it isn't as such.
Since my blog has that Christian label on it, I figured it best to simply just cover it to remove any ambiguities. Sorry if it came off the wrong way.
And Sentient Machines is also my favorite.

An indepth review. I figured you didn't want me to post 2000 words into a forum thread, so here it is:http://theologygaming.com/game-music-saturday-final-fantasy-random-encounter/

I can't quite pull off a full review of how I feel about this album yet, but I have to say that I love "Sentient Machines" so much that it's preventing me from giving a lot of the other songs the attention they deserve! 10 glorious minutes of "Floating Castle" guitar goodness!
Thank you so much! That song was super hard to work on. Full credit for the arrangement goes to Mithius. I just programmed the drums, recorded bass, inserted the sounds into Cubase (midi + his guitar tracks + some rendered synths) mixed and mastered it. So pretty much mithius did the majority creative work on this one.

Should've gone with Final Fantasy II: Fantasy Harder. Then third one could've been called Final Fantasy III: With a Vengeance.
That would have been cool! But it'd be too similar to Teen Agent 2: Teen Harder...
...which is totally real and going to happen....

iie. The name, or at least the beta name, is "Rebellion", because it's a central theme of FFII (and the original Star Wars trilogy).
The name is Rebellion because I said it was. That's all I said. Keep your fan-fics to yourself.
